Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .Â
In my private life
Happy Sunday!
Well as this week is a holiday week for students and some of my team off work, I pitched in an did cases with the team! As I began doing cases many years ago before becoming the “lady boss”, this feels like a recreation to me!
I wasn’t as productive as I wished though as Thursday I was plagued by a killer headache, enormous back pain too and nausea!
Fortunately it didn’t last more than a day and I have no idea what happened? I think I got a virus and fought it because that was too weird to be a migraine.
Anyway, I felt better Friday already!
This week’s surprise came with an offer of a short term partnership with a French society willing to expand to the UK, US and more English speaking countries. They offered to have me design or have designed a T-Shirt that would be “me” (at least, bookish me), send it to me and have it on sale for a few weeks. I’d get a percentage of the sale.
I don’t expect to earn much from this but the prospect of creating a bookish T Shirt was so appealing that I agreed.
Now, it became quickly obvious to me that creating a bookish T Shirt is more complicated than expected!
If I don’t want to have to ask for permission nor go against any author’s right, I must forget using my favorite quotes or even heroes names on the T Shirt!
Nor any sentence that would come close to the original quote!!!!
That leaves me with general bookish things.
I wonder how the small businesses on Instagram do it and survive with all the fees and licences they have to pay to authors!
I have yet to hear back from them for the proposed graphics I sent them though so we’ll see!
I am leaving you here with a graphic I designed but that WON’T be used for T Shirt or in a commercial manner as it’s too close from an original quote BUT I had too much fun designing it not to post it here on the blog!

What do you think of it? And can you guess the original quote and fandom?
Also as is usual, I am leaving you with three reels (yes I was feeling inspidred) that I made on Instagram this past week!
The first is about trading best friends for fictional men… who you you trade your friend for???
The Second is about forgetting the time when you read! And I loved using Sheldon’s voice from Big Bang Theory!
And the last one is I think the most challenging I have had to do to this date! Having the right transitions (12!) and right timing to the lyrics was a real challenge! And my husband kept teasing me like a schoolboy while I tried to invest myself LOL
On the blog this week (click in the graphic to read the post)
I wrote two reviews this week and one of them was filled with quotes as I truly want all of you to read Mysteries of Thorn Manor (after you have read Sorcery of Thorns of course).
Thanks for reading!
Sophie

My aunt throws up and gets back pain when she gets migraines, but she also gets them with an aura too. So maybe it was just that? Idk. But I’m so glad you’re all better! And what an amazing business offer, I’m so excited for you! I can’t wait to see what your design will be!
Maybe it was that Jen!
That business offer is so cool, Sophie! I love the design you posted, pity you can’t use it for a t-shirt but it’s still great! (And I love the story and sassy sorcerer the quote refers too as well ;))
Sorry you had such a bad day, but at least good that it passed quickly!
I’ll post the “real” designed T Shirt here ;-)
What a cool business opportunity! I never considered the legalities of creating book merchandise! :)
Me neither, not before now!
Congrats on the partnership offer, definitely a great avenue to get your name out there!
Thank you Mogsy!
WOW! Congratulations for the partnership offer! :-)
Thank you Maddalena!
Oh that’s wierd- I also ad a migraine, but mine changed into a full on common cold that i’ve been fighting for a week now.. lost my voice and everything XD Happy you’ve been feeling better!
And omg so happy for you to get to design a book Tshirt !! Even with the limitation, it does sounds like a super nice opportunity
Agreed!!
Glad to hear you’re feeling better, Sophie. Designing a bookish t-shirt sounds like such a fun project! Congratulations!
Thank you Rachel!
I’m glad your sickness passed so quickly. Hw exciting about the T-shirt design.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you Anne!
A lot of people on instagram and etsy don’t get licenses. It’s a scary way to do business!
Agreed! I could never do that!
I am not creative enough to ever design anything, so I think whatever you come up with is AMAZING! Have a great week!
Thank you for the vote of confidence Samantha ;-)
Glad those symptoms were short-lived because it sounds miserable. Who would have thought that designing a bookish t-shirt would be so tricky! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
I’ll show it next weekend Tanya!
That is a neat partnership, but it sounds quite challenging too. Good luck, and I cannot wait to see your final product
Next weekend hopefully Sam!
Sounds like an awesome business opportunity, Sophie! :D
It certainly is a fun one!
I love mucking in and dealing with cases at work! I don’t do it very often so that’s probably why I don’t mind it!!!!
Same Caro!
Good luck with the graphics! That is so neat!!
Thank you!
oh wow! Congratulations Sophie! I am so so proud of you. You have really grown your instagram so well. I have no clue where the quote is from, I am guessing its from a fantasy though. haha
Yes it’s inspired by Sorcery of Thorns!
Your videos are always so good, Sophie. I haven’t tried one yet, so I’m in awe. Glad you’re feeling better!
Thank you Teri!
Love all the videos, and the Sheldon Cooper voice one is so true! Lunch break I never get as much reading as I want done! Can’t wait to see your final shirt design. As for a fictional book boyfriend? Hmm, probably Mal from Play by Kylie Scott, lol.
I loved Mal!
I love that last reel, it does look like it was tough! I can’t wait to see your t shirt design
It was very tough Tammy!
