Synopsis

Livvy Savoie is a people person. Not only does she have the magical gift of persuasion, but her natural charisma charms everyone she meets. She hasn’t met a person she didn’t like. Until her annoyingly brilliant competitor walks through the door. No matter how hard she denies it, loathing isn’t the only emotion she feels for him.
Grim reaper Gareth Blackwater is rarely, if ever, moved beyond his broody, stoic state. But the witch he’s partnered with in the public relations contest is destroying his peace of mind. He’s convinced that the flesh-melting attraction he feels for her is merely her witchy magic at work.
But forced proximity proves there is more than magic sparking between them. Livvy learns this enigmatic grim’s abilities are beyond any supernatural she has ever known. And when Livvy becomes the obsessive target of a dangerous warlock, Gareth proves just how powerful he truly is. Because no one is going to hurt his Lavinia.

Audiobook Review
4 stars
That book is the fourth one in the “Stay a Spell” series by Juliette Cross and I knew even before listening to it that I would have a good time!
The whole series is contemporary magic and centers around the Savoie sisters , witches from New Orleans. That series is playful, fun, uncomplicated with great characters, good banter and sexy supernatural males!
This time we follow Livvy in her journey into finding love, even if she didn’t expect it!
Livvy is sexy, confident, caring and a master at persuasion. She is highly competitive and when she enters a marketing contest, she really wants to win!
But that plan might get derailed by the broody, powerful grim reaperGareth Blackwater!
It begins with animosity and rivalry but will soon venture into much more heated territory!
We met Gareth in the previous instalment and learned a little bit more about grim’s mysterious abilities. Always Practice Safe Hex will fully expose what grims can do and they can do… a lot of things!
The heat in this book was scorching and there is a level of kink that was not present in the other instalment due to Gareth… preferences and need! So have the fan ready to work or a working shower nearby!
The chemistry between Livvy and Gareth was undeniable but it was also more than just sex. They made sense together. And soon enough, our lonely grim will be unfold in the Savoie family alongside Nico, Mattheo and Devraj from the previous books!
To keep us interested there will be a threat, a villain lurking in the corner but contrary to the previous books, we’ll know right from the start who the villain was.
If you loved the other books, you won’t be disappointed. And if you want to try some fantasy easy to read and filled with great characters and a whole lore, give that series a chance!
Also once again special mention for the narrators, both perfect for the job: Aiden Snow and Johanna Fairview (you literally hear her smile!).
Thanks for reading!
