Back from holiday and creativity mode activated. The Sunday Post

Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

I realise that it has been three weeks since I last posted a Sunday post but I went on holiday!

And just before leaving, work was so crazy that I had no time to write a post explaining everything.

To make it short, we went for one week on the French Riviera, stoping by Aix les Bains on our way there and by Troyes on our way back. We had splendid weather, three swimming pools, did lots of visits and had a great time minus some hiccups with the rented house.

We visited some big towns like Nice, the famous Saint Tropez, a gorgeous mediterranean garden at Rayol and lots of quaint yet beautiful villages.

I was barely on social media, having planned weeks ahead some posts and it was heaven!

Sorry for all the posts I missed from you!

Here is a photo collage from said holiday.

Since coming back from holiday, I spent my time between doing chores and painting or creating funko pop.

Here are some pictures of what I have done so far.

I wanted to paint a bumblebee for months now!

As you can see, it was bliss!

I am considering (finally) joining an art school on my free time next year. They have a tour organized next Saturday and I will go ask some questions.

Everything I have painted and done so far, I have done it untrained so maybe it would be a good thing to get some more education in different techniques.

Tomorrow I will be back at work, under a heatwave that makes it a challenge for my dog to sleep at night and …for us too as she is waking us six times a night!

Last week on the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

Last week I posted one review of a very good historical book and a post to celebrate pride month, full of LGBTQ recommendations.

That’s it!

Now I will do some blog hopping and plan more posts ahead!

Thanks for reading.

  1. I love your vacation photos! So gorgeous! And so nice to unplug and just enjoy life. You have such talent! I can’t believe you haven’t been formally trained. Yes, go to art school! I bet you’d love it. I want to take a painting class at some point.

  2. Your holiday montage looks fabulous – but I’m blown away by your artwork. You have such a talent and taking art classes sounds like an excellent idea. I hope it gets cooler for you – we’re supposed to be having cooler temps, too, though we could also do with some rain.

  3. Your trip looks wonderful!! And your art is always amazing. I think taking some art classes could be cool! We are in a heat wave here too and it is miserable. But, at least in the states we all have AC.

  4. What a great looking holiday! I am in my own creative burst knitting a sweater for my grand nephew who looks rather like his grandpa (my brother) when he was that age. You are so talented I hope you enjoy art school.

  5. Your water color art is GORGEOUS, Sophie! I especially love the whale and turtle you did. I wish I had some artistic skill! And I hate the heat we’ve been having. Sleeping is definitely a struggle and Cleo doesn’t understand why we don’t go on walks in the afternoon anymore because of it. :(

  6. I can’t believe how good you’ve become with your art, Sophie! And just teaching yourself, that’s amazing. You should definitely take art classes if you can:-) And your vacation sounds amazing, I’m actually jealous! Have a great week.
