Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer . And as we are finished with January, I’ll also wrap up my reading month featuring my best reads.

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

It seems my winning streak was still going strong this past week! After the mouth surgery, the car problems and my son’s quarantine it seems that my daughter has COVID.
There is never a dull moment in Beware of the Reader and Beware of the Husband’s household, that’s for sure!

My daughter went back to her dormitory and stayed with her boyfriend from last Sunday, knowing that he had COVID but needing to attend university.

Since Tuesday, she’s had two positive tests (lateral flow) but has no symptoms. Thanks to the booster it seems that COVID has no effect on her. She just stayed there instead of going back home this weekend, avoiding to contaminate us.

But amidst the bad news, there was still a good news this week: Beware of the Husband had his birthday!!! He turned… drum rolls …50! We ate chocolate cake of course!
Happy birthday honey!

Something to lighten your mood now, a few reels I did on instagram this last week!

The first one is my answer when people consider reading romance and fantasy is not reading “real books”.

The second one is a funny reel I made with all my funko pops using favorite quotes from the books they are inspired of!

Last but not least, I did a “magical” unboxing for a brand new company: Shadow of the Watersphere !
That company has been created by a very young lady (early twenties) living in Switzerland! She has an entrepreneurial streak and loving books and merchandise, she has decided to create her own book box company.
You have to admire her determination at such young age so I decided to help her boost he small business featuring her boxes on my feed.
If you are on Instagram, you might want to give her a follow.

In January, I have read ten books, and has still reviews to write! I had an amazing start to my reading year as the whole Red Rising first trilogy is above fice stars!
Here are three favorites that you might consider reading!

That’s it!
Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. A huge happy birthday to your husband! Chocolate cake is the best way to celebrate yay! And I’m so glad to hear that your daughter is doing good, thank goodness! Here’s hoping you can see her again soon ♥.

  2. The battle of the Pops is fantastic! I have a few Disney ones and love them. So sorry about your daughter but so glad that she has no symptoms. The vaccine makes such a difference there I think. Happy birthday to your husband! 50 definitely deserves chocolate cake. Well every day deserves chocolate cake but 50 deserves extra chocolate cake. Have a wonderful week!

  3. Happy birthday to the Husband! And sorry to hear your daughter has Covid. Glad she’s symptom free, at least. Hopefully her case stays mild. It’s nerve wracking!

  4. Happy Birthday to your husband! Although I am sorry to hear your daughter has COVID–good news though that she’s symptom free. My coworkers who have caught COVID haven’t been so lucky. They too were vaccinated and boostered. It’s just the luck of the draw, I guess. I can’t wait to read Iron Widow. I am glad you enjoyed it so much!

The whole genre fiction isn’t real reading is so dumb, isn’t it? Those who feel that way are missing out on some great books.

I hope you have a great week!

  5. Happy Birthday to BotH! Look at you with your younger man. Boo for having covid, but at least your daughter is asymptomatic. My dad (of all people) was asymptomatic too. Me, not so much, but too sick. Do people really say fantasy romance is not really reading? What is wrong with people.

  6. I am glad your daughter, with the booster, had no symptoms. My granddaughter had the same reaction. Thanks goodness for the vaccine and the booster.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. Yeah its always a blessing when you don’t have symptoms. I have had it but the symptoms were barely there that if my family hadn’t had it at the same time I wouldn’t have known I even had it. Glad she is doing well. And Happy Birthday to your mate. hope he had a wonderful day.
