What new to you authors became favorites this year?
Happy Sunday! .
This is already day six in our #BestReadsOf2020 challenge and here in Belgium it’s Saint Nicolas ‘s day!
So Happy Saint Nicolas to my fellow Belgian bloggers Stephanie @bookfever ; Maud @books.and.tea.blog ; Lou @lou.lovesbook (adopted Belgian), Inge @thebelgianreviewer and Lindsey @LindseyReads 😉
Back to today’s question, here are some favorites new to me authors from this year:
ROMANCE and WOMAN FICTION
❤️ Katherine Center
❤️ Jen de Luca
❤️ Evie Dunmore
❤️ Emily Henry
❤️ Talia Hibbert
❤️ Rosie Danan
❤️ Taylor Jenkins Reid
YA FANTASY
❤️ Naomi Novik
❤️ Kerri Maniscalco
❤️ Intisar Khanani .
And my WINNER today is Beth O’Leary!
When I read The Switch, I thought that this story was:
-so British. Not only because it’s happening in England but because Beth’s writing feels British to me. The characters have bashfulness and modesty that I found so often when I visited England. You also have all the local “terminologies” and expressions that made me feel, well, in England!
–Quaint and colorful. This book is filled with many side characters who nearly feel like main characters. Beth O’Leary really took the time and care to make them shine and feel alive, with their quirks and flaws. Their mannerism, their likes and dislikes. Most are elderly people and we discover an array of authentic men and women.
–Charming and adorable. Because that’s how many of these characters were, even If some were grumpier than others. Eileen was the prime example of the charming yet determined and energetic grand-mother! Fitz with his odd socks but amiable personality, etc……
It was an instant crush for me! So much charm there and I read The Flatshare right after. I love that author and can’t wait for her next book!

Katherine Center is an author I am so happy I found. Her books hit me in all the best ways. There are tears, but they are so uplifting.
