Hi friends,

This is Sunday and I nearly did not post my usual weekly wrap-up because … my weekend looked like chaos! But I am a very dedicated girl sor here I am linking up to our charming hostess Kimberly @caffeinatedreviewer

In my private life

Well I thought I would have nothing to mention today untill Friday afternoon.

That’s when all plans went to poop!

It all began with the battery of my laptop dying. Completely dying and not loading anymore! I had made the mistake to let it go till zero percent as I was distracted and fair warning: it kills your battery! You should never go below 20%.

Of course it happened when I had three reviews to write for blog tours (one today and two next Thursday) plus two more reviews next week and all my blogmas pitcures to schedule on Instagram!!!

I was sweating but lucky me, Super Hubby saved the day!

He really has found his calling working in IT! He revived my battery Saturday afternoon! It’s still weak but functioning!

Then on Friday evening my husband noticed that my windscreen washers (I think it’s the right term) did not work anymore. He opened the car hood and …. a weasel had eaten the cable and lots of stuff inside the car! That’s the third time in two years!!!!!!

I had little hope to get a quick opening at the repair shop but they were sweet enough to have me the morning after. Of course I had to change my plans that morning but my car was repaired…till the next time?

Saturday night I rode to attend a friend’s birthday when a light began to flash on my dashboard signaling a problem with my tires pressure and asking me to check and reset! I thought I probably had a flat tire and did not want to stay stranded far from home in the middle of the night so I turned back and … back home I went!

I indeed lose pressure in one tire but when I phoned the leasing company today asking if I could repair in a close by car shop open on a Sunday I got a flat “no” as this one was not on their list!

Result: tomorrow I’ll have to work from home and go to another one to have my tire repaired.

As I had a visit to my hairdresser scheduled today I went …. on foot. The bright side is that today has been healthy as I walked around 7 to 8 miles to have my hair cut 😀

But honestly I hope this streak of bad luck, even if it’s not life altering I rekon, is now over because I did not manage to blog hop or schedule or ….this weekend!

I guess it was a reminder on how easy my life usually is and why am I complaining so often! Point taken!

On the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

I reviewed three books this week, some “meh” some great!

The Kiss Thief by LJ Shen was a disappointment. I so wanted to love that hyped book but ….no.

Six of Crow was an audiobook by Leigh Bardugo and ..a success! 6 stars!

The Guy on the Left by Kate Stewart was an ARC and part of a blog tour. I got it very late and had to erad it in record time (something that I hate) but fotunately for me I had a great time reading it!

Then my Blogmas began last Sunday with one post a day to celebrate all my favorite books read in 2019! Strangely they don’t get many visit on WordPress but many comments on Facebook!

On Tuesday we got to talk about the books that surprised us this year!

In the blogosphere and the literary world

Quizz at Epic Reads! Let’s try to guess the best book you haven’t read yet based on your “Schitt’s Creek” opinion!

Nicole speaks about Goodreads awards and the best YA she has read!

Goodreads Choice Awards and Paste’s 30 Best Young Adult Novels of the 2010s: What Have I Read?

Pfew that’s it! How was your week? I promise to comment back as soon as I can next week.

Thanks for reading

Sophie

  1. The Shitt’s Creek quiz said I need to read We Are Lost and Found, which sounds good 😀 I’m so sorry to hear about all your troubles!! I hope this week is treating you better <3 And as for "windscreen washers" we call them Windshield Wipers here in Colorado, but I am sure lots of places call them different things!

    1. Oh good to know Brittany as my next stay in the US I plan to get back to Colorado as we had such a fantastic time! The Rocky Mountains are just too beautiful!

  2. Wow, you had a tough week. I hope the car gets repaired quickly. Welcome to my life of walking long distance to get anywhere. It’s an 11 mile roundtrip to the library for me. I can only go there if I’ve got nothing else to do that day. Most of the other places I go to are closer.

    1. Bwahahahahaha! Maddalena I love your line of thoughts! Maybe taht would not be a bad idea! Do you have their number?

    1. The car has been taken care of Teri! I had more bad news on Monday and Tuesday but I am thinking HARD to provoke good news tomorrow 😉

  3. Oh my goodness, Sophie. That really is a terrible string of events to have happen to you. I’m glad your hubby was able to get your laptop working again though. I hope your upcoming week is much more relaxing!

  4. Wow just that title alone DOES sound like quite a weekend! Yikes!! Dang weasels. 🙂

I have not been on Facebook in ages, but that’s awesome you’re getting lots of comments through that! And hope this weekend is better one. 🙂

  5. Well, that is quite a week you had. Gad you survived! Yeah for your husband and his tech savvy, and boo to weasels for chewing your wires. I think someone at work said a rat did something like that to their car, and I said “ewww”. Weasels >> Rats?

  6. Wow, that’s one hell of a weekend and we’re still only Sunday here, in Canada. Yikes. I think I would have been pulling my hair out about the laptop battery, never mind everything else on top. And there’s always more problems when these things happen at the weekends, like, nowhere being open. I hope your week is better, Sophie, and the car gets fixed.

    1. Well Alexandra Monday and Tuesday had their share in bad news but today seems better! I believe that the bad luck streak is now over (crossing my fingers)

  7. What a weekend you’ve had! Surely the new week will be better. Hopefully working from home means you’ll get plenty done with fewer interruptions that you would have in the office. And who knew weasels could be so… weasely?! 🙂

  8. I hope your week improves!
Good luck with the car and computer!
I admit I go the easy route and read on Facebook more than blog pages. Now, you’ve brought this to my attention. I hadn’t thought about it.
