Synopsis

Cowritten by #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Murphy and USA Today bestselling author Sierra Simone—a steamy plus-size holiday rom-com about an adult film star who is semi-accidentally cast as a lead in a family-friendly Christmas movie, and the former bad-boy pop star she falls in love with.

Bee Hobbes (aka Bianca Von Honey) has a successful career as a plus-size adult film star. With a huge following and two supportive moms, Bee couldn’t ask for more. But when Bee’s favorite producer casts her to star in a Christmas movie he’s making for the squeaky-clean Hope Channel, Bee’s career is about to take a more family-friendly direction.

Forced to keep her work as Bianca under wraps, Bee quickly learns this is a task a lot easier said than done. Though it all becomes worthwhile when she discovers her co-star is none other than childhood crush Nolan Shaw, an ex-boy band member in desperate need of career rehab. Nolan’s promised his bulldog manager to keep it zipped up on set, and he will if it means he’ll be able to provide a more stable living situation for his sister and mom.

But things heat up quickly in Christmas Notch, Vermont, when Nolan recognizes his new co-star from her ClosedDoors account (oh yeah, he’s a member). Now Bee and Nolan are sneaking off for quickies on set, keeping their new relationship a secret from the Hope Channel’s execs. Things only get trickier when the reporter who torpedoed Nolan’s singing career comes snooping around—and takes an instant interest in mysterious newcomer Bee.

And if Bee and Nolan can’t keep their off-camera romance behind the scenes, then this merry little meet cute might end up on the cutting room floor.

Audiobook Review

4 stars

Between porn and Hallmark story.

I think there is no better way to describe that story!

The authors are surfing the very fine line between porn and sweet romance. That was really fascinating.

The moment I felt that there were too many very explicit sex scenes in the book and was ready to stop reading we switched into a cutesy scene with lots of heart and good sentiment.

I know Sierra Simone writes smut with lots of heat and Julie Murphy writes middle grade but this odd and unexpected pairing worked seamlessly and I couldn’t tell who wrote what. So very unique!

It was oddly refreshing.

I loved that Bee was a plus-size adult film star. She loved her career, it made her feel powerful and desired. She really gave it all her heart, not just her body.

It was hearty and enlightening.

Even her moms were proud of her job!

There is a lot of body and sex positivity in this book and I think we all need a reminder that not being model thin is not bad and that enjoying your sexuality is not a sin either!

When Bee will be chosen to replace the main character in a hallmark movie, that fulfilled her secret wish of filming something else than porn.

Only …no one could know she was a porn star.

And it’s not only Bee that was coming from the adult entertainment but a good part of the movie crew!

Bee’s reaction at Nolan “ex boysband sexy bad boy”was… priceless and cute.

I couldn’t help but feel a kinship to Bee when she was thinking of how he was her teenage fantasy! Who has never dreamt of meeting her teenage celebrity crush right?

The characters did everything in that book from sweet porn star Bee to reformed bad boy Nolan who takes care of his mom and sister. Also special mention for Teddy Ray Fletcher porn producer because he is an anomaly in that field, being respectful, honest and caring with his actors! Far from the usual wolf portrayed for that industry. This was entertaining, sweet, hot, sarcastic and very smart too. A unique Christmas read that’s for sure, one that I didn’t know I needed and one that certainly doesn’t fit any classic Christmas book’s idea.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I have heard some mix things about this one, but I might check it out. Glad it ended up working out for you though. I do love seeing sex positivity in books though. Sierra Simone is great about that especially. I just get wary over her endings lol

  2. Thank goodness I wasn’t drinking anything when I read your description because I would have nosed it. Porn and Hallmark, two things I never imagined in the same sentence. Though, I am not surprised seeing that for this author duo.
