Cliffhanger
Confession time here: I hate cliffhangers especially when the following book is not published yet. You are engrossed in your story with usually the suspense mounting and you just know that it will be impossible to have a conclusion in your read.
You begin to sweat and become irritable. You may even bark on someone daring interrupting your read. You turn the last page and then BAM! CLIFFHANGER!
Wisely my dog knows to hide and my kids find something very interesting to do in their room. No need to try and soothe me I am in a fool mood and will stay mad for several hours.
Why were cliffhangers invented???
Today’s books ended on a helluva cliffhanger!
Their authors are known to torture mercilessly their readers with open ending. Worse than Dallas or Dynasty (yes I am that old). I swear they must relish in the power they hold over us poor readers!
Yes Erin Watt and Cassandra Clare YOU are the object of my wrath today!
You know what’s even worse? I come back, always, asking for more and more of their stories. What does it say about me??? I must be masochist.
Greatest cliffhangers of 2017:
Fallen Heir by Erin Watt
It was not my favorite of the series but it ended in such a way that I JUST NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW! Erin what do you accept as payment for sending me ARCs or even beta reads? Champagne? Foie Gras? Chocolate? Stripper of the male an muscled variety?
Just give me your price!

Second greatest and inhuman cliffhanger: Lord of the Shadows by Cassandra Clare
I love all of Cassandra Clare’s books but The dark Artifices is my favorite series.
Here is what I wrote about it:
“What Cassandra Clare gives us is unique: a rich story evolving right alongside the protagonists, each having his/her own adventure and yet all moving seamlessly right alongside the others. They are a unit, limbs of the same body, united by a fierce love.”
My only regret of course is that everything is crumbling and in turmoil by the end of the book and the next one won’t be published before 12 months! 12 MONTHS!!!!
I know Cassandra Clare is like Eliott Ness incorruptible so I guess I have no choice but to wait and wait and wait and…

What was your “best” cliffhanger of 2017? And how do you feel about cliffhangers?
Thanks for reading and happy Friday!
Sophie
Hahaha…you’re too funny Sophie! If Ms. Watt is smart, she’d take the stripper…LOL!! Merry Christmas sweetie!
Bwahahahaha Trisy do you have an idea of his cost? Just to know if it can fit into my 2017 dwindling budget LOL
I’m trying to hold out on reading Fallen Heir until the next book is out!
You are wiser than I am Kayla!!! 😉
