This is already the last day of the challenge hosted by Collector of Book Boyfriends and I.
It’s been a fun month to do it and I congratulate Trisy at Bobosbookbank as she has posted every day!
For our last day our topic is young adults!
I could have an endless list with young adults authors as it’s one of my favorite genres but I restrained myself and chose three winners.
In no particular order you have:
Jennifer L Armentrout
She writes PNR, Science-fiction, Contemporary… young adult novels! I began reading her Lux series and I was immediately hooked (Daemon is the main reason I was hooked but the plot, the banter, everything was so good!). Then I read the Covenant series and her contemporary books under J Lynn.
My latest book was a real crush: The Problem with Forever.
As I’ve already spoke aplenty of this book in this challenge I will only give you one of my favorite quotes:
CC Hunter is not only a fantastic writer but she is brave. If you don’t believe me just go read her interview on this blog. What she went through with her husband’s condition.
When I had the luck to chat with her on messenger and via mail I discovered someone very generous. She has written many books YA and adults, translated in different languages as my kids read the French version of Shadow Falls and yet she stays humble, ready to help anyone. She is an inspirational speaker and that does not surprise me in the least. She gives and gives and gives.
I loved her latest novel This Heart of Mine.
This book is very special for her. It broaches many delicate and sensitive subjects like grief.
My favorite quote is:
βThrough the pain and uncertainty of my whole freaking life, a thought hits. Iβm going to live. Iβm not just going to graduate from high school. Iβm going to read way more than one hundred books. Iβm going to date boys again. Iβm going to experience more toe-curling, blow-my-mind kisses. I can stop accepting and start hoping. Itβs allowed now. Suddenly Iβm past ready for the healing to be over. I want to start living. Iβm tired of dying.β
Morgan Matson
I discovered this author thanks to Lola, a blogger and reviewer on Goodreads. She was so enthusiastic about The Unexpected Everything that I bought the book and fell head over heels in love with it!
This story is cute without being overly sweet, funny but serious, light and thoughtful. It shows us sometimes the best laid plans can be derailed for the better. Take what life gives you and enjoy. Our best moments are the unexpected ones.
Favorite quote:
βYou have to try. You have to take your chances. Go and attempt and see what happens. And even if you fail – especially if you fail – come back with your experience and your hard-won knowledge and a story you can tell. And then later you can say, without regret or hesitation… ‘Once, I dared to dare greatlyβ β Morgan Matson, The Unexpected Everything
That’s it!
Now do share with me your favorite YA authors
A huge thank you for having followed all my ramblings this month.
I haven’t read anything by any of these authors excepting JLA! I read her book Obsidian but I couldn’t stop comparing it to Twilight so I didn’t really enjoy reading it. Maybe I need to try another book of hers…
Jennifer L. Armentrout & C.C. Hunter are both two of my favorite authors as well! They have been favorites of mine way before blogging and I have such fond memories of reading Shadow Falls and Obsidian π
Kendare Blake is one of my favorites. Her Anna Dressed in Blood is one of my all time favorite books. I also like random people – no one specific author but her that I can really think of off the top of my head. I am sure there are others just can’t think of them. Great post!
Oh this is such a great post, Sophie and I love your picks! I really love Morgan Matson’s books, I loved everything she wrote so far and can’t wait for Save The Date to be released π
I haven’t read these authors but I’ve discovered quite a few YA author since I started blogging, and it’s nice to see them get some recognition! Great post.
