Book series I won’t finish. Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday banner. A young girl with glasses sitting under a tree, reading with a dog asleep at her feet.

Hi friends,

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today’s theme is: Books I DNF but as there are not that many, I chose series I won’t finish.

The reason is often that I got bored or it got repetitive. Other reason: the series suddenly becomes overly spicy and I have to wait to see any plot development. Or the author has changed her main character so much that I can’t recognize her or him anymore.

Thanks for reading.

Sophie

  1. I’m not continuing with Fathomfolk either. Book 1 was already meh so I can’t imagine it getting any better.

I wanted to read A Tempest of Tea for years but when it finally came out, I lost interest? I’ve been hearing so-so opinions about it too.

  2. I am really bad at not finishing series. But I agree, if I don’t like the first book for whatever reason, what’s the point of continuing?

  3. Some of these are on my list to read, but I never continued with Serpent and Dove. It was mostly because I didn’t receive an ARC of the second book, and I have so many others to read now.
