Synopsis

4,5 stars and 5 stars for the whole series

Mini review because I am in a review slump but I couldn’t pass the opportunity to sing the praise of Green Creek series one more time.

Brothersong is a very worthy conclusion and yet my least favorite of the books.

Not because it’s Carter and Gavin’s story because Gavin was brilliant to read but because the pace felt slow and somewhat dragged out at times.

I get that it’s more realistic, that convincing Gavin to get back to Green Creek’s pack after he sacrificed himself to save them would take time rather than happen in a jiffy but that made the story slower than I like.

What you will find (in what is still a very good book, don’t misunderstand me) is:

-information about Gavin and Carter’s past.

Reading about Gavin’s life before Green Creek was heart wrenching.

Reading about Carter and his childhood was sweet and swoony.

-found family at its best and acceptance.

The pack has grown so much since the first book! I love them all especially Rico and Bamby’s interactions 

–ordeals and a journey to take

-a real villain.

Robert Livingstone is a monster in every sense of the word

–romance, even if romancing a werewolf is with bringing them dead deer or raccoons;

But truly the best part of it was Gavin. He shone through the book in all its candor, vulnerability, hope and… scowls.

I will always recommend this series to anyone who wants to read good literature, even more if they are looking for something queer with big hearts.
