Now, some meat about the story (pun intended as it was hawt!).
This is a short novella written by K Bromberg in the 1001 Dark Nights series.
Harper and Ryder were rivals at college. Being utterly competitive and sharp as a knife Harper dominated Ryder, she was always on top … Sorry, sorry many innuendos here but the book is filled with them to my great pleasure.
So they exchanged a very hot kiss thirteen years ago and Haper left Ryder immediately. No, no he was not a bad kisser she just had her whole new life planned in another state.
Thirteen years late Harper is back in California to enter a secret bid in the construction world. Waiting in the security line she’s ogling a fin @ss in a suit dreaming about sex reward once she’ll win the bid. See, Harper is a shark. A woman in a man’s world but she’s eating unsuspecting suits for breakfast and spit their ties when she’s won. She’s just the best.
I adored her determination, her confidence and competitive mind. She knows what she wants and goes right to the jugular. You have to admire a woman walking like a queen when wearing a security helmet on a construction site while wearing a pencil skirt and pink high heels!
Of course said sexy suit she’s admiring turns to be none other than her former rival: Ryder.
They’ll both compete again and sparks will fly! Who will take control?
I loved the chemistry it nearly made me combust on the spot and Ryder was perfect for the role of sexy and smart business man: bearded, wearing glasses, sporting tattoos and a tone body under his crisp suit.
The story was rather short but their oral sparing (I speak about their banter, take your mind out of the gutter!) was really well done and funny. K. Bromberg gave us enough details to know Harper and Ryder so we could enjoy the ride.
So if you like it short (the story I mean), hot and playful I would recommend this novella in a heartbeat.
Sorry I’m playing naughty girl today!!! All that foreplay in the office just contaminated my innocent mind 😀
