Mini Review  (because I just want to get to the next one !)

In a tiny nutshell for once (I promise lots of details in the last review)
Reading this series is like watching anime. It is addictive, packed to the brim with action, fights against evil and populated with great characters.
Â
Shiro is your mischievous character. He reminds me of Jace Wayland. Arrogant, sarcastic and living to cause trouble. The kitsune in all his glory!
Emi has come such a long way. From the dutiful Miko always staying wisely inside shrines to prepare her body and soul to welcome a goddess she is now fighting alongside immortal beings. She had no super power. Just her ki and her immense courage. That’s my favorite kind of heroine: no warrior born but more than making up with her courage and her wits.
She is so selfless. Emi is ready to sacrifice herself to save Shiro, to let Amaterasu ascend, to save the planet. She sees herself as expendable but at the same time her heart yearns to know love, to live. You just can’t help to admire such dedication! But oh, we were all (my buddy readers and I) so hoping she would by some miracle survive and have her HEA! Each time the harsh reality knocked at the door my hope diminished and my heart broke some more!
You have so many things that I love in fantasy here:
-monsters (some really had me becoming green, right Jen?);
-powerful deities with some ready to realize their evil plans;
-a quest to save the world (why go small when you can dream big right?);
-a cute but not to be overlooked heroine;
-a hot and trouble maker kitsune;
-action and plot twists aplenty.
PS I was shocked to discover that I guessed right for Shiro! I never guess correctly LOL
On to the third one now!
Have you read this series? I was in heaven when I learned this week that it would become a comics!
Thanks for reading.
YES! Some of those monsters freaked me out so bad lol! Annette Marie has a way of describing creepy things and it seems like she has a theme of putting spiders in her series lol! I loved, loved, loved how much more Emi grew in this book! She was so amazing and Shiro was beyond addictive, sigh.
