4 stars
Soul Siphon is a very short story meant to give a feel of TL Branson upcoming trilogy Soul Render.
I was given the opportunity to review by the author himself.
It will be very difficult not to spoil anything given the short lenght of the story so I’ll focus on my thoughts and feelings instead of the plot.
What did I think of it?
– first that I loved the writing. It fits the storry and the setting perfectly. It’s “kingly” or “knightly” and lovers of either historical novels or fans of Tolkien will rejoice;
-second that in a really short time the author succeeded in setting the tone and the scene for his future work. Clean, efficient well done.
-third that if I can say that king Drygo is powerful, can obviously siphon strength and souls and loved his wife I don’t know him yet. The story is built around actions rather than the psyche of characters.
Now in such short novel you have to make a choice. Action and character’s depth would be very daunting and maybe confusing.
So now I’m really curious to read more about Drygo and his quest. A quest? Well of course this is fantasy and the hero must look after something 😉
So far it’s 4 to 4.5 for the action, the penmanship.
But I give 3 stars for characters development simply because I need and expect more.
See you in the full novel TL and … bring it on!😉

This sounds a pretty good introduction to a series. I believe there will be lots of characters’ developments as the story evolves. Ohh you make me curious about this story and especially the author. I’ll check it out. Awesome review, my friend. Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are welcome Geybie! He is a brand new author and I met him while chatting on ES Bell aka Emma Scott’s FB page. 😉
