Second post for my favorites of the year and today’s category is Historical fiction.
Well maybe I won’t be original and unique to day because my choice also won the Goodreads Award and it’s so deserved!
Today’s winner is Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid!
Once again Taylor Jenkins Read did it! And it’s no small feat because when I realized the story would have some very stressful moment in a space shuttle, I wanted to stop reading!
I have fear of flying and am sick with fear just thinking of someone going into space and seeing all these books darkness! Knowing that outside the shuttle I would either die instantly without my spacesuit or be lost forever! No Sir! Thank you very much!
And yet…and yet I ended up loving it and crying like a baby too!
She had me soaring above my fears, swept away by these characters and the length they would go to realize their dreams.

I don’t read a ton of historical fiction, and when I do, it is usually YA, like Ruta Sepetys or Alan Grant to name a few authors. I have heard great things about this author I think, and like you said this book won the Goodreads award, so I should probably give it a try.

People love a good TJR. Did I read any historicals this year??? Yes – The Story of Us and The Library of Lost Dollhouses. The second was dual timeline.
