For months now I entered what my friend Joe @Storey of Stories imagined as brand new meme called “First Impression”.

It’s a meme where you talk about a book that you JUST STARTED! Maybe you’re only two sentences in the book, a chapter or two , maybe a little farther.  The goal is to  give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.  It will be fun to go back to this post once you’ll have finished the book! Did you think you’d love it and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you right all along?

First thing first: since this evening I am officially on holiday!!!!!

It could not come soon enough as I am really exhausted. Now I’ll have some free time to blog hop, like, comment, enjoy the kids, read and sleep! Oh and attende YALC London with some extra days in London from July 26th to 31th.

Now let’s get into First Impression Friday

This week’s story is Hero at the Fall by Alwyn Hamilton.

I had read the first two books of the series and could not wait to finally read this one! I will also meet Alwyn at YALC so it was really time to read it.

First impression: why did I wait so long before reading it???? I had this book for months now on my shelves and barely a half page into the book and I was already immersed in the rebels world! Ready to follow Amany in her daring adventures to free Ahmed, her friends and kill the Sultan!

My prediction?

4,5 stars minimum!

Synopsis

When gunslinging Amani Al’Hiza escaped her dead-end town, she never imagined she’d join a revolution, let alone lead one. But after the bloodthirsty Sultan of Miraji imprisoned the Rebel Prince Ahmed in the mythical city of Eremot, she doesn’t have a choice. Armed with only her revolver, her wits, and her untameable Demdji powers, Amani must rally her skeleton crew of rebels for a rescue mission through the unforgiving desert to a place that, according to maps, doesn’t exist. As she watches those she loves most lay their lives on the line against ghouls and enemy soldiers, Amani questions whether she can be the leader they need or if she is leading them all to their deaths.

Last Friday my read was Model Boyfriend by Jane Harvey Berrick and Stuart Reardon (Jane is taking over our FB group in a few minutes by the way!).

I predicted 4,5 stars and it’s been 5 stars!

What are your first impression today?

Happy Friday and thanks for reading!

    1. Thank you so much Trisy!!! It already began great with me running after the ice cream truck like a kid because I wanted to celebrate with my favorite flavor 😉

    1. ha Nicole sometimes we pick up a series and begin reading then the next book is so far away that by the time it gets published we have forgotten how amazing they were. Then they sit on our shelves for a long time…..
