For weeks now I entered what my friend Joe @Storey of Stories imagined as brand new meme called “First Impression”.
It’s a meme where you talk about a book that you JUST STARTED! Maybe you’re only two sentences in the book, a chapter or two , maybe a little farther. The goal is to give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end. It will be fun to go back to this post once you’ll have finished the book! Did you think you’d love it and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you right all along?
Hi dear friends!
First of all let me SHOUT as I am over the moon: Belgium won against Brazil!!!!!!!!
Sorry I am usually not a football (or soccer for my American friends) fan but Brazil is such a strong and incredible football team that I am just stunned, humbled and giddy right now!
OK now that’s out of my chest let’s get to today’s read: Model Boyfriend by Jane Harvey Berrick and Stuart Reardon.
I am nearly at the end right now but when I began reading yesterday I noted my first impression and when I chatted with the author I told Jane “ I began reading this morning and I already loved the beginning with preparing for the last competition. I am in his head like a live reportage and that’s good!”
Here is the synopsis
A powerful contemporary romance set in the fast-moving world of international modelling.
“What’s it like dating one of the most beautiful men in the world? A man whose face is on every magazine and ad campaign?
Not as much fun as it sounds, as Anna Scott is about to find out.
Retired from rugby at the age of 33, injured and bored, Nick is given the chance to enter the high stakes world of fashion photography as a model.
But behind the glittering façade lies an ugly reality: drugs, alcohol, all the deadly sins, and people willing to sleep their way to the top.
It’s a tough life and tougher on relationships.
Nick needs to learn to navigate the treacherous path quickly or risk losing it all—including the woman who has become his reason for living.
In this glamorous world, there is no room for error. Being a MODEL BOYFRIEND has never been harder.
Can nice guy Nick find his way through, or will he be tempted to risk it all? Because the one thing he despises is failure.
He’s a lot more than a pretty face.”
This story continues where UNDEFEATED left off, although it can also be read as a stand-alone story in its own right.
My prediction: 4,5 stars.
Now last week I was reading Bright We Burn by Kiersten White.
My review is scheduled for tomorrow but I predicted 5 stars and it was 4,5 stars. Not far 😉
PS What do you think of that teaser? This is the one I told you I sweated for hours yesterday missing my I Heart Character’s Tuesday and posting on a Friday!
What are you reading right now and what are your impressions?
Thanks for reading!
I didn’t know this meme and it seems SO fun! Might give it a try 🙂
Please do Cri 😉
Fabulous teaser! And congrats to Belgium on their win!
Thank you thank you!!!!
