For weeks now I entered what my friend Joe @Storey of Stories imagined as brand new meme called “First Impression”.

It’s a meme where you talk about a book that you JUST STARTED! Maybe you’re only two sentences in the book, a chapter or two , maybe a little farther.  The goal is to  give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.  It will be fun to go back to this post once you’ll have finished the book! Did you think you’d love it and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you right all along?

This week I am reading one of my favorite authors in fantasy, sci-fi and contemporary! I name: Jennifer L Armentrout.

I am barely 23% in Moonlight Seduction but it is painful to stop reading! I am seduced all right.

My first impressions of the De Vincent men: they are total jerks! Really!!!

The heroine has been foolish as a teenager but hey, who has never acted a little bit dumb with a stupid crush on an older boy right? Nikki is back to help her parents while her mom is under a chemo replacing her at the De Vincent estate.

The house is …creepy to say the least. I am speaking about ghosts and New Orleans voodoo creepy!

Add to it a stuck up spoiled b@tch that I want so bad to kick in her behind and make her eat her overpriced Armany’s pants and you get the picture.

I have a lot of fun!

For those interested here is the synopsis and I predict a 5 stars!

Meet me next week LOL

Synopsis

The de Vincent brothers are back—and so is the intrigue that surrounds them—in New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s sizzling new novel…

Nicolette Bresson never thought she’d return to the de Vincents’ bayou compound. It’s where her parents work, where Nikki grew up… and where she got her heart broken by Gabriel de Vincent himself. Yet here she is, filling in for her sick mother. Avoiding Gabe should be easy, especially when so much of Nikki’s time is spent trying not to be stabbed in the back by the malicious hangers-on who frequent the mansion. But escaping memories of Gabe, much less his smoking-hot presence, is harder than expected—especially since he seems determined to be in Nikki’s space as much as possible.

Gabriel spent years beating himself up over his last encounter with Nikki. He’d wanted her then, but for reasons that were bad for both of them. Things have now changed. Gabe sees more than a girl he’s known forever; he sees a smart, talented, and heartbreakingly beautiful woman… one who’s being stalked from the shadows. Now, Gabe will do anything to keep Nikki safe—and to stop the de Vincent curse from striking again.

Now as far as First Impression Friday went ….Star Touched Stories went from 4,5 stars in the first short story (Death and Night) to three stars for the second one and four stars for the third one….I’d say it makes it around 4 stars right?

What are your first impression this Friday?

Thanks for reading and happy Friday!

Sophie

  1. I have first lines from Overcome by A.K. Evans.

“This had to be a mistake.”

After reading the blurb, I know these first lines are ominous.

    Happy Reading, Sophie!

  2. Not gonna lie the cover for Midnight Seduction is pretty awful. I don’t think I would ever pick it up randomly on my own. But the synopsis sounds really good and you are loving it so far so that might be enough for me to give it a try!
