Last Friday I entered what my friend Joe @Storey of Stories imagined as brand new meme called “First Impression”.

It will be a meme where you talk about a book that you JUST STARTED! Maybe you’re only two sentences in the book, a chapter or two , maybe a little farther.  The goal is to  give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.  It will be fun to go back to this post once you’ll have finished the book! Did you think you’d love it and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you right all along?

This week I began writing my first impression when I was two chapters in my book but honestly I already did not want to stop!

Today’s read has been recommended by Raven from Dreamy Addiction. I love Raven’s reviews as they always are in depth reviews, honest and very enlightening. Added perk: we have similar tastes!

So today’s read is Letters to the Lost by Brigit Kemmerer

She is a new to me author.

Barely two chapters in the book and I am hooked. So much sadness. So much anger. So much feelings bleed out of the pages. It’s confrontational. These two are like two bulls. They are suffering and all alone in their grief even if their best friends try to support them.

Synopsis

Juliet Young always writes letters to her mother, a world-traveling photojournalist. Even after her mother’s death, she leaves letters at her grave. It’s the only way Juliet can cope.

Declan Murphy isn’t the sort of guy you want to cross. In the midst of his court-ordered community service at the local cemetery, he’s trying to escape the demons of his past.

When Declan reads a haunting letter left beside a grave, he can’t resist writing back. Soon, he’s opening up to a perfect stranger, and their connection is immediate. But neither Declan nor Juliet knows that they’re not actually strangers. When life at school interferes with their secret life of letters, sparks will fly as Juliet and Declan discover truths that might tear them apart.

I predict a 4 stars minimum!

Now let’s look back to last week’s prediction: The Chateau by Tiffany Reisz.

I predicted a 4 stars and it’s been a 4,5 stars!

Time to share your first impression!

Happy Friday.

Sophie
