Last Friday I entered what my friend Joe @Storey of Stories imagined as brand new meme called “First Impression”.

It will be a meme where you talk about a book that you JUST STARTED! Maybe you’re only two sentences in the book, a chapter or two , maybe a little farther.  The goal is to  give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.  It will be fun to go back to this post once you’ll have finished the book! Did you think you’d love it and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you right all along?

This week I’m nearly finished with my read but I wrote my first impression and prediction especially for this post!

Take a seat, grab a glass of fine wine and some Belgian chocolates because today’s read is an hedonistic one!

I began an ARC of The Chateau by Tiffany Reisz as my friend Angy @Collectorofbookboyfriends “made me” read it. She is a “die hard” fan of The Original Sinners series by Tiffany Reisz. This is number nine in the series BUT I didn’t realize it was part of the series.

I went in blind. Totally blind.

My first impressions: Kingsley (I didn’t know him from the other books as I had not read them) seems a special young spy. Womanizer and very playful. He must deal with Bernie a young man working for the same special agency doing menial jobs. Let’s say that Bernie is very naive, very innocent and you can’t understand how he landed a job in a super secret organization. Or Bernie was really good at playing dumb and he was the best spy of the agency! Tiffany’s writing is fluid and beautiful. She uses words like “exquisite” and Kingsley seems rakish but so easy to like and love. I could already feel a smart writing. I fell into the story immediately and could not help being sucked into Kingsley’s adventures. I predict a 4 stars.

Meet me by the end of next week and we’ll have a look into the rearview mirror.

Synopsis

THE CHATEAU: AN ORIGINAL SINNERS NOVEL

As the Jack-of-All-Wicked-Trades for a secretive French military intelligence agency, 24-year-old Lieutenant Kingsley Boissonneault has done it all—spied, lied, and killed under orders. But his latest assignment is quite out of the ordinary. His commanding officer’s nephew has disappeared inside a sex cult, and Kingsley has been tasked with bringing him home to safety.

The cult’s holy book is Story of O, the infamous French novel of extreme sado-masochism. Their château is a looking-glass world where women reign and men are their willing slaves. Or are they willing? It’s Kingsley’s mission to find out.

Once inside the château, however, Kingsley quickly falls under the erotic spell cast by the enigmatic Madame, a woman of wisdom, power, and beauty. She offers Kingsley the one thing he’s always wanted. But the price? Giving up forever the only person he’s ever loved.

The Chateau is a new standalone Original Sinners novel from international bestseller Tiffany Reisz, author of The Siren and The Lucky Ones.

Now last week I posted about A Shot in the Dark by LJ Stock predicting 4 stars.

It’s been 5 stars! Emotional, touching, well written with admirable characters. I can’t recommend this book enough.

Now do tell me your Friday first impression!

Happy Friday it’s the weekend!!!

Thanks for reading.
