Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

As it’s the first weekend of the month, I’ll also write my January wrap-up.

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

Sorry to be quite absent these last weeks but it seems that winter has me falling asleep so early that I have no energy to blog hop or even reply to comments!

Is that because I grow older???

Anyway, this week I began my new job on Thursday!

Everyone was very welcoming!

It’s also weird because for nearly twenty years in my previous job I was the expert and the boss. Here I am neither!

For some things I have to learn and am slow and other things I am ahead of my colleagues thanks to my previous experience! That feels…weird!

Also I sleep a lot and dream plenty which does not happen often!

I guess my brain has to process what I have been learning in the day 🙂

As usual, I will leave you with two reels.

The first one is a collaborative reel with other readers about us being completely immersed in the new Sarah J Maas: House of Flame and Shadow. I even “fake ate” my dog’s food for that reel!!

And the second was a tricky one to make! I had fun showing how bookworms could get ready superhero style!

January wrap-up

I read 13 books in January thanks to having two weeks off work!

My three favorites are below!

The Scarlet Veil by Shelby Mahurin was a nice surprise considering I didn’t want to finish reading the Serpent and Dove trilogy

I adored The Maid and waited impatiently for its sequel! If The Mystery Guest was different from the first book, I still was very happy with it!

The Bride by Ali Hazelwood was an excellent read and my first Five Stars of the year!

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. I am so glad that you had a good start with your new job! Adjustment periods are always tricky but you seem on a good start! And it seems like January was a really good month, reading wise! Let’s hope this “trend” will keep up all the year!!

  2. I am glad you are settling into your new job well! Starting over somewhere new always has it’s challenges, doesn’t it? But it’s also exciting. It looks like you had a great reading month in January. I really liked the Maid too. I still need to read The Mystery Guest and am looking forward to it. I hope you have a great week!

  3. Glad to hear it’s going smoothly with new job. It could be great not being in charge. I loved when I left teaching and got a new job behind the scenes. I think Molly will have more adventures, and Prose set up some big changes, too.

  4. Sounds like you’re settling in nicely at your new job! I just started Bride so I’m excited to see your 5 stars!
