Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

My week has been extra busy with me working long hours (one day even till 8 PM) and my washing machine broke down!

I had it for 12 years and we use it daily so maybe that was to be expected!

As I can’t stay without one, we had a limited choice of replacement if we wanted it to be delivered swiftly so me bought a new very costly one!

Let’s hope it will be worth the money…

Next week will be even busier than this week with me traveling a lot for business so I expect that it will be difficult to keep up before next Friday!!

I also got several messages from Photobucket that I had to pay if I wanted to keep my pictures because I was over the free storage limit. When I began blogging, I used photobucket a lot (it was free) so today I went and erased a ton of pictures!

I hope I won’t have too many broken links but oh, well…

Also it’s time for some Windows update and I plan to make these updates today after posting so pray for me that everything goes well as I had some previous bad experiences…

For once, I want to share a song here!

I confess that I was prejudiced against Miley Cyrus with her having the provoking attitude and all but recently, I was very astonished when I heard her singing the iconic “Nothing Else Matter” by Metallica!

That girl has a VOICE!

And this past week, I fell HARD for her single FLOWERS that I am listening to all the time!

When I read the comments about what coud have motivated the song (Liam allegedly cheating on her) I confess that I went to look for all the gossips while I am not usually one to read trash magazines 🙂

As usual, I am leaving you with some reels…

The first one is my reaction when I read some books (The Atlas Six) and am not sure if I am dumb or if the author is just gaslighting the readers…

The second is an unboxing (for once) because I sweat buckets to have a little trick with my box and my computer!

Last week on the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

Last week I posted two reviews about books I have adored!

One was a reread of my favorite book Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

And the second is about a delicious cozy fantasy with adorable characters and unexpected duo: Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. 12 years is a long time for a washing machine these days. I hope that you love your new one. I haven’t listened to Miley Cyrus in a while and you have me intrigued to hear more! I hope that you have a great week! 🙂

  2. Oh man long days? I hope they fly by fast for you! I hope you end up loving your new washing machine though. We just got a new washer and dryer, and they are super nice. Miley Cirus definitely has a voice, not really a fan of her personally, but I can separate artist from art. 🙂 Have a wonderful week darling!

  3. Sounds like work a real bear right now. I hope the work travel goes well. Replacing appliances is always a pain… and expensive… but I guess there’s no way around it. I don’t usually keep up with celebs but I was a little sad when Miley and Liam split. They seemed so in-love.

  4. I hate when appliances die! It’s so hard to get new ones these days. We’ve had to replace our washer and our dishwasher in the past couple of years and waiting was no fun! Glad you got one pretty quickly.
I’ve had that Flowers song stuck in my head for DAYS and I don’t mind at all!

  5. Flowers is such a good song with a wonderful message. I have always loved Miley Cirus ever since her Hannah Montana days, I’m glad she’s doing so well

  6. Twelve years – wow! We’ve never had a washer or dryer last that long. The dryer we have now has had problems over the past couple years, but luckily it was able to be repaired. Hope the new one is worth the money, Sophie.

  7. Sorry about the washing machine!! And I am not the biggest fan of Miley Cirus, I mean, I like her songs when I hear them around but usually I don’t intentionally put them on when I listen to music, but she has a beautiful voice for sure!

  8. I feel the same way about Miley. My daughter introduced me to the fact that she sings rock songs and then I saw her collabs with Billy Idol!

  9. Working until 8pm is no fun! I guess you’ll be having a busy week again with traveling. Hopefully it’s off to somewhere nice? It’s such a bummer when appliances break down because usually replacements aren’t as good as the original. Hope your new washing machine is really good. Have a lovely week, Sophie!

  10. oh yes! I also want to read the Emily Wilde book. I got a new washer/dryer when I moved in here and luckily I had 2 months to shop and get exactly what I wanted to be delivered the weekend we moved in. I did a lot of research. I think they are more expensive also because it has been 12 years. I hadn’t bought a washer / dryer for about 20 because after that I lived in 2 rental places.

  11. Yeah, the mention of Miley Cyrus makes me want to turn (she screams toxic drama queen to me) and run but she can definitely sing… There’s a video of her on youtube singing Jolene and it is superb!

Not having a washing machine is a nightmare! Everything just builds up so quickly… Definitely a quick replace appliance. The only thing I’d freak out about more is the dishwasher but that’s because I absolutely despise having to wash dishes… The skin on my hands is so sensitive that after a couple of days they’re so dry they’re cracking and bleeding. (Then I turn into the drama queen!!)

I hope this week goes past quickly for you! Super busy work weeks suck.

  12. Yeah, Miley Cyrus is a personality train wreck, but she is actually a very good singer! Sorry about the washing machine. I don’t think I have ever had a machine last that long! That’s pretty impressive. Have a great week!

  13. Twelve years is a pretty good lifetime for an appliance, but still very inconvenient. I actually saw Miley Cyrus live when my daughter was younger. The Best of Both Worlds tour. She performed as both Miley and Hannah Montana. She’s a good performer.

  14. Atlas Six is on a TBR for me. Don’t know that I’ll get to it, but I did hear a lot of good things. Of course you saying you’re not sure if the scientific facts are true or not, well the science teacher in me is intrigued and now really wants to listen and find out. New washing machines can be fun! I like mine. I didn’t get a new dryer to match it because the old one I have works just fine. I don’t use my dryer as much, hang most of my clothes and really only dry towels and sheets and the dog bedding. Hope that you have a good week!
