Hard to keep up with blogging…

Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

Another late Sunday post because I have a hard time keeping up with blogging because:

-work is demanding. Also we are asked to go back to the office more often, leaving me exhausted at the end of the day with no will to blog nor blog hop;

-my daughter had another meltdown this week and I had to be the calming force between her and my husband. Being far away and alone to face every problem is taxing on her and she is quick to explode …on us! I swear I will have earned a medal in diplomacy!

-I try to escape in art these days. Creating is an outlet I neglected for years but now it’s rearing its head full force! Painting helps to keep me sane and that’s what I did today, exploring watercolor techniques to create snow. See the results below (sorry for the bad lighting).

That being said, I also have vertigos from time to time and must see a specialist (ORL) in April. As my imagination is running full force (drama queen for my health here), I hope it’s not a problem with my brain but rather with my ears, due to me getting older (yepeee). We’ll see.

And as usual, I am leaving you with two reels.

One with Quicksilver painted edges and another funny one!

Last week on the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

I only posted two reveiws last week and one of them was a very good surprise!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I’m in the same boat with the being exhausted and demotivated to blog hop in the evenings! Going to the office can indeed be so tiring, and add to that the dark and dreary winter days and it’s an instant energy zapper. And a daughter on her own in the US is definitely a challenge too! I hope things will slow down a bit soon so you have some relief there, and that your vertigo eases up a bit and your doctor’s appointment will have a good solution!

  2. I will have a new plus the first week of February. He’s from outside of our company and I’m terrified that he will have us go into the office on a regular basis. That will be tough! I wish your daughter had family in the area to help in your absence. Hopefully things will go smoother soon. Your paintings are lovely. Wishing you good outcomes on your doctors visit. I hope they find an easy solution to your vertigo. I hope you have a wonderful week!

  3. I have a feeling we’ll have to go back into the office more often too. We were supposed to start a new schedule that would allow us to be in slightly less than we are now, but that was put on hold. The upper management really wants us back full-time, but there’s no space for all of us anymore. They gave it away to other units within our division. We’re on pins and needles hoping they’ll give us hint as to what they have planned. It’s all very hush hush right now. I do hope things improve for your daughter. Being so far away and in an unfamiliar place must be so hard. I wish my mom was still there so she could at least be a sort of back up for your daughter if an emergency arose, but she left Sacramento years ago. She still visits every year, but it’s not quite the same. That is great that you are getting back into art! It’s good for the soul. I hope you are able to get answers about the vertigo when you see the doctor in April. That seems so far away still. I imagine that doesn’t make it any easier! I hope you have great week!

  4. You are so talented! I cannot fathom being able to do the paintings and painted edges you do! I’m glad you have that creative outlet to help with all the stresses. I know our department (after much fighting for it) converted to work from home (before the pandemic) and despite the corporate concerns our productivity skyrocketed … along with our employee satisfaction scores. I wish employers allowed more freedom for this sort of thing in the roles that can be done that way – they might be pleasantly surprised by the outcome! I hope things level out with your daughter without you having to expend so much effort being the peacekeeper; it’s hard for all of you to be so far from her when there are issues to iron out.

  5. I hope you can find some relief from your symptoms while you await your appointment. That is a long time. Your art is beautiful. It’s a wonderful escape. Commuting is for the birds – LOL! I am glad we get to pick our work from home days. I usually do Friday because I am so tired by then.

  6. I’m always awed at your talent – I don’t think your snow tree failed at all, it looks fabulous. And as for your makeover of Quicksilver – wow! No wonder you want to lean into your creativity more. And yes – it’s tough on the youngsters when they first strike out on their own. I think we forget just how demanding dealing with all the everyday finances, shopping and keeping going with projects, work or lectures can be.

I hope work eases up and is less of a drain on you in the coming week, Sophie:).
