Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

Happy Sunday!

We are still waiting for Beware of the Husband’s results… still no news from the cardiologist after 5 weeks. But he is still off work and taking anti stress pills so globaly he feels better.

This week I was off work and I just did what I wanted!

First I slept nearly 10 hours when I never sleep so much!

Then I harvested lots and lots of apples from my garden to make tons of compotes! And juices. And everything you can think of making with apples.

On Thursday I took the train (once more) to go to another town and visit a friend I hadn’t seen for more than two years. We had a blast.

I also took the opportunity to have my booster, fourth vaccine now, with nearly no reaction (just a slight headache and stuffed nose for a few hours).

And yesterday, I did what I love most: art!
I don’t know if you are aware but TJ Klune has a new edition of Wolfsong. A hardback and Waterstones has a special edition with stenciled edges.
I adore that book but since UK is out of Europe, ordering costs more than the book in shipping and customs. So I decided to paint my own edges 😉

Waterstones special edition

And here below is how I made my own. An interpretation but … 😉

First a global sketching.

Then beginning with light colors to paint.

I added some wolf clawprints and the moon as I thought it added something related to the story.
And then, painting everything..

Ok the lighting is not perfect but what do you think? For a first time?
I know it’s not a machine that did it with paint sprayed and no trace of brush but I think it’s poetic if imperfect 😉

Oh and I changed the Sunday Post Theme to symbolise fall!

On the blog this week (click on the graphic to read the post)

The reviews of the week were a blend of contemporary romance by a very hyped author and an urban fantasy that surprised me in a very good way!

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. I really hope your hubby gets answers from his doctor soon. That’s so frustrating. Oh wow, I love what you did with the Wolfsong book. I saw that it is being released with sprayed edges but was shocked at how expensive it’s going to be.

  2. How frustrating to still be waiting on answers from the cardiologist. Sleeping for 10 hours… apparently your body knew what it needed! All the apply goodies sound divine. And hooray for your latest booster! I adore your painted edges of Wolfsong! Well done, Sophie!

  3. I love the picture you painted. I think it’s fantastic. There’s someone on Instagram that I follow that paints pages in books like that. I think you did a great job for your first time!

I’m so sorry you still haven’t heard about your husband’s results. That must be so infuriating. I hope you get news soon!

  4. You did an incredible job on that book! Beautiful! How long does it take to get results from doctors where you are? There seems to be no sense of urgency, and I mean, it’s his heart, a rather important organ. I hope he can get the rest he needs.

  5. Sounds like you had a great week, Sophie! I’m sorry though that you still have no news about your husband, though glad to hear he’s feeling better. I need to get a copy of the new Wolfsong, that cover is gorgeous! And so creative how you painted the edges yourself, I love it!
