Hi dear friends,

I know that I have many comments to reply and do on all your posts and ..we’re getting there this weekend promise!

Thanks for being patient with me!

No First Impression Friday today, sorry Joe, as I wanted to show some love and support to a very special blogger who so deserve it!

Trisy @bobosbookbank has been one of the first to follow and comment on my posts.

Day after day after day she is showing her support and interest for my little blog and it means the world to me!

Maybe you don’t know her blog.

Maybe you’ve never spoken with Trisy.

But she is going through some tough time right now and even if she is a fantastic and courageous lady, well I think we all can use some moral support when we go through trying times.

How to do it?

Well maybe in participating in her meme: Friday Fav?

It’s not much but it’s fun as today’s topic is so Halloween themed with your favorite shifters!

So bring it on!

Shadow Fall Series by CC Hunter

You have all halloween creatures! Witches, vampires, werewolves and dragon shifters!

It’s entertaining, filled with humor, mystery, action and looooooove!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Probably my first werewolf story ever! And what a story. Maggie has a unique writing style: she creates a real atmosphere. I read it like I was surrounded by some fog and always in twilight!

Synopsis

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolfβ€”her wolfβ€”is a chilling presence she can’t seem to live without.

Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It’s her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay humanβ€”or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

Bloodbound series by JL Myers

I can’t recommend this series enough! You know it’s like the underdog or an under loved story that deserves all the spotlight really!

First time that I read this book I wrote:

“WOW, a really good one!
How to describe it best? Maybe try this: take a a pint of starcrossed lovers (with the hero and heroine’s species being mortal enemies), a zest of Twillight (our vampire heroine hates the monster she is and fights her bloodlust) and add vampire royalties with an old way of life to the mix.
Shake it and you’ve got the receipt. And it works really, really good!”

King Hall (Forever Evermore) by Scarlett Dawn

I wrote:

“More than 5 mystical stars!
It’s been hours since I’ve shut down my Kindle. I still don’t know how to write this review. I want so badly to express all the feelings and intense emotions I experienced on this journey. How can I write something to convince other readers they just have to read these books?
Oh Hell, I can only do my best and cross my fingers…

First of all, this serie has all the magical ingredients of a fantasy best seller:
-mystical creatures ranging from shifters, vampires, mage to elementals;
-four amazing main characters with a stream of interesting and solid secondary characters. All play their roles in the story interweaving their past and future;
-sassy banter and sarcastic remarks (I loved it);
-humor, especially in the first book;
-action, love and friendship but also hate, intrigue and betrayals;
-steamy hot sex scenes (book 2and 3);
-and I could go on and on.”

Really fantastic series! Give it a chance you won’t regret it.

Last but not least and rather NA than YA: Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack) by Suzanne Wright

If you love:

-shifter stories;
-psychotic alpha;
-tiny but spunky heroine with BIG smart mouth and witty come-back

This book is for you.

I LOVED Taryn and all her lines, I laughed so hard.

I’ll give you some for fun. Enjoy!

-She is attacked by Dumb and Dumber and they want to rape her: “Oh. And what is you think you’re going to do to me now?” Mousy smirked. “I’m thinking that I’d like to fuck that mouth of yours.” “Sorry. I was raised to never put small objects in my mouth or I might choke.”

-Scolding her mate who wants to go after the big bad wolf and play right in their hands: “Here’s what’s going to happen. We’re all going to calm down and drive back to Bedrock and you’re not going to give me any shit about it or, so help me God, I’ll beat you so bad you’ll have to put toothpaste in your ass to brush your teeth!”

-Trying to get her mate to relax and play: “You would have learned to during adolescence if you hadn’t spent most of that time running a pack. Time to make up for that. Don’t you realize that you missed a crucial part of your development as a person?” He frowned. “I turned out all right.” “Erections don’t equal personal growth, Trey.”

Do you want to participate in this Friday Fav? Tell me about your favorite shifters!

Thanks for reading and happy Friday!

Sophie

  1. Oh my goodness, Sophie, how am I just seeing this now?!? You’re such a sweetheart, a dear friend and an AWESOME blogger…I adore you! And thanks for all the new recommendations, there’s several new ones here for me!

  2. Great list of shifters Sophie! Ha, I’ve read any of these. Will have to go check them out. My favorite shifters are in The Others series by Anne Bishop. The Sanguinati (vamps) are my favorite. Thanks Sophie! ❀️‍♂️

  3. I’ve read very few books that featured shifters but I did read one last year called Haven (Mary Lindsey) that I enjoyed. Actually maybe it was werewolves. Is that the same thing? I honestly don’t know if it’s two names for the same thing or if they’re totally different. Anyway, it was a YA novel so definitely on the tamer side but I really enjoyed it.

  4. Great list! I’ve not read any of these sadly. Shifters usually mean wolves, and has become so trite in my mind. There are other were-creatures in world myth and legend to play around with. I tend to be hella picky. I do love Anne Bishop’s The Others series, which has wolves, but a great many other creatures too. My fave are the Crows.

    1. Well Alicia we can’t love every genre indeed! I need to switch between genres to avoide being bored πŸ˜‰

  5. I LOVE the Wolves of Mercy Falls. Stiefvater has such a unique and beautiful way of writing, and I especially love the way she used science to turn them instead of the moon. I’ll have to add them to my re-read list!!
