I am back…from holiday.

I am back from my holiday to Bath! I took a break from blogging last week or rather, I had posts scheduled but didn’t do any blog hopping as I was enjoying my daughter’s company and discovering Bath and its surroundings!

I love going on holiday with my daughter in a “mother/daughter” trip as I don’t see her very often on school year.

Our travel went well. I was crossing my fingers as I had to take a train to Brussels, then the Eurostar to London St Pancras, then the underground to Paddington Station. From Paddington, a third train to Bath and once arrived, we walked to our appartment. We didn’t anticipate that Bath was in a “valley” and sprawling on the hills! So our walk with our suitcases was uphill and very steep!

My daughter grumbled that “I will never listen to you again! We should have called a taxi!”.

But we arrived safe and sound LOL

The day after our arrival, we walked 16 km , discovered our surroundings and went to the spa! We had two hours to soak into real hot spring water, charged with 42 minerals! Our skin was so soft after! That water is used to cure skin disease.

One pool was on the lower ground and one was on the rooftop in the open air. It was pure bliss with hammam, cold chambers and sauna in between!

We loved it so much that we came back a second time two days after!

The second day we walked 17 km and went to visit the American museum (ironic to visit the American museum in England, I know!). We also visited the Roman baths and Bath Abbey.

And the third day was Bridgerton themed with another walk of 19 km.

In three days we walked 52 km uphill and downhill most of the time.

We also visited three bookstores, discovered Topping Book Shop and bought 15 books between the two of us….

We had a grand time! And are considering our next travel, next summer. Maybe a train trip to York and Edimburg…

And Lula Dean was so good that after listening to the audiobook I had to buy a physical copy while in Bath!
