Hi dear friends,

Today is Sunday, and I am back from my business trip! Yay! Time to have a chat with you about what happened in my life and on the blog last week, linking back to The Sunday Post @caffeinatedreviewer!

Oh and today as summer has officially knocked at our door, I changed The Sunday Post’s banner 😀

In my private life

As the title suggest, the week has been extra busy!

I went to the doctor for my headaches and sleeping problems and I am now using some plants to sleep better. For my headaches it seems that I was not crazy after all when I said that AC gave me headaches. Each time I am in a building or train with bad AC it’s like my nasal mucosa is inflammed. My doctor confirmed that you have people being prone to lungs problems you also have people with very sensitive nasal mucosa and it causes headaches. Huray! Well, sort of … so now I have a nasal spray to use every night for one month.

And I must do as much homework as I can, doctor’s order.

On another note, my daughter has finished her exams (we are still waiting for the results and crossing all our fingers, toes included) and it was their senior high school ball on Friday.

Meaning that from 2 PM I had five girls at home to prepared for the big night! Mani-pedi, curling hair, make up etc. That’s when my seamstress talent was called into action for a last minute adjustment or repair. They were all gorgeous wearing their long ball gown.

I was also taxi driver as I had to stay up late to fetch three of them back home. They had a sleepover. Always prudent I took some plastic bags with me in the car, you never know when alcohol is involved but everyone was alright.

Of course my daughter wanted me to bake a giant cake for the event as they had a dessert buffet. She “ordered” a layer cake with rose biscuit, chocolate mousse and white chocolate topping. Orderd …to me of course!

So on Thursday night, I baked till 11 PM after my work day grooving and dancing on Backstreet Boys “Everybody” or 5 Seconds of Summer “Youngblood” to make it fun. The neighbors already think that I am crazy so who cares right? 😀

I bet you are rocking and grooving too now right? 😀

Last job of the week: nursing my dog. My dog had a lump on her paw that had to get removed on Wednesday and then on Friday she began acting all weird: slow, not barking at cats, not eating etc. Back to the vet it was…

This is no wonder I blog hopped much less!

On the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

I wrote four reviews!!!!!!! Incredible I know. And three of them were 5 to 6 stars!

Three Heartbeats away from CC Hunter was a satisfying conclusion to that trilogy.

From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata reminded me why I loved her so much! Incredible enemies to lover with a fantastic family!

Jersey Six by Jewel E Ann was just …brilliant! With a plot twist that I never saw coming!

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson is one of the best fantasy books that I have read in years. I absolutely adored that universe where books were talking and farting and ….

On Tuesday our topic was our favorite male characters. I don’t know why but my mind seemed to fixate on Male as in Alpha and testosterone and …. 😀

On Wednesday I was overjoyed to chare with you that big news: Heather Demetrios has a new book coming in a few months about two orphaned sisters and the blurb is really promising!

Thursday was time for our weekly chitchat and I talked about villains asking you if you loved them!

Last post: I was tagged by Ezichi for The Liebster Award!

  1. OMG Sophie my daughter could order all the cake she wanted I can’t make it … she would LITERALLY have to order it! Awesome that you can make it! I am not that handy. Usually I can whip up some meals for things for schools or cookies/brownies but not cakes, I might even be able to bake a pie or two never a layered cake! =) I hope the dog is ok and hubby is doing good and I know your daughter graduated so she did well!!

  2. I hope your dog is feeling better <3 poor puppy 🙁 Also I hope your daughter gets good results on her exam! And it sounds like she had a blast at the ball 😀

Thanks for sharing the Meyer-Briggs book site! I am going to go check it our right now! I love the Meyer-Briggs personality test so that sounds right up my ally 🙂 I hope you have a great week!

  3. You were busy, Sophie! The title of ‘Mom’ is just an umbrella for the many other jobs we do – it’s never-ending, but so much fun (most of the time!).

    1. Oh that’s so true! One day I wrote that moms are: teachers, nurses, shrinks, cooks, bakers, taxi drivers, seamstresses, coach and so many other jobs!

  4. Hope your daughter scored well on her exams. Nice that you’re there to support her on those celebratory nights when the girls need taxi and alterations! You’re a good mom.

Love Mariana Zapata! I can’t wait until her newest comes out on audio. 🙂

  5. So wait. All of your girls had prom? And you had to bake until 11 pm? AND you still found time to write and read? I want your work ethic!!

  6. Too funny with the music lol. Hey at least you’re having fun- who says the young ones get all the fun? 🙂

Hope the plants help! AC can be awesome but I think it can definitely aggravate the respiratory system sometimes, too.

Ooh a personality quiz. Love those! Hope your dog is okay. Have a good week!!

  7. OMG, you’ve been super busy! The things we do for our kids. I hope you got to eat some of the cake you made, it sounds yummy!

I love working from home. I’m happier and I tend to get more done for it’s harder for people to bug me, lol. I hope you’re able to follow the doctors orders and partake! Constant headaches are not fun.

Speedy healing to your dog too! Poor puppy. 🙁

  8. Oh my gosh, sounds like a week! Also, I’m glad you got to the bottom of the headaches issue. It definitely makes sense that the AC really did cause them and it’s always good to have theories verified! Woo, your daughter finishing her exams is HUGE!!! Side note/fun fact, my friend’s neighbor was singing Everybody by BSB REALLY loud the last time I was there. We had some wine and were just lounging around the apartment when all of a sudden we hear him singing that (very poorly) through the walls and honestly it was one of the most subtly unexpected and funny things, ever.

  9. Well you accomplished so much this week! You made progress on some things and will have some hectic memories of one-time events. Now hopefully you can have a bit of relaxing and some great reads before the next round of things to do.

  10. It’s always nice when they finally find out what is wrong with you! Glad you figured out the headaches. You had a pretty busy week, so you need some reading and relaxation! 🙂

Have a great week and happy reading!

  11. No wonder you have problems sleeping, you must be exhausted with all the extra duties you do when you get home! Talk about working several jobs. But I’m glad you found out what was up with the headaches, as that sounded both scary and worrying.

Oh, and your poor dog on top of everything else? I hope your poor pooch is going to be okay. And also, that hubby is on the mend too. xxx

  12. Omg you had a busy week! Now rest and relax!

I’ve just started Sorcery of Thorns, I got to about 60 pages in and had to put down to make tea…..but I’m itching to pick it back up again!

  13. I’m glad to hear the doctor has given you something that will hopefully help with those headaches. I hope your daughter does well on her exams and that she and her friends had a great time at their dance!

  14. What a week! At least you have a (possible?) answer for the headaches. Hopefully the nasal spray will do some good. Baking at 11 PM… a mother’s job is never done! Now will you come to Florida and bake one for me? Hee hee!

  15. Blimey! That’s a week and a half… I hope the coming one is a lot less hectic and that the medication you have received really helps – I’ll have to tell my sister, who is also struggling with symptoms which she thinks is related to her workplace AC. Take care:)

  16. I’m so thankful your doctor was able to give you some medicine and also tell you about plants to help out. Here’s hoping your headache stays away now, hugs! And that cake sounds amazing! I love to bake too! Oh and your poor little doggy, I hope she feels better asap and that this next week is much better for her!

  17. That cake your daughter ordered sounds amazing! I hope you are finding some relief between the plants and the nose spray too. And, good luck to your daughter and you as you await her exam results. May the results be amazing!
