Hi friends,

Today at Top 5 Tuesday hosted by Shanah @bionicbookworm it’s time to write our letter to Santa!

Considering all the inconveniences, potholes, mini drama and ordeals I went through this year, HE’D BETTER DELIVER!

If not, stab, stab, stab the elves! And I’ll chop his reinders antlers with my son’s katana (after sharpening the blade as it seems more ornamental than anything else to me!). I’ll be so vicious that I’ll fatten him up with out infamous Belgian chocolate and he’ll stay stuck into chimneys!

How so I should try asking nicely first???? REALLY?

Because karma did not ask nicely if I agreed to all that was thrown my way this year!

But if you say so, let’s change tune and go with ….

“Dear Santa,

You really don’t look your age (of course the beard could mask the wrinkles) and for centuries now are determined to bring us joy and toys (even when you brought me a Ken doll instead of Barbie because you mistook my appartment for that of our neighbor).

You swiftly deliver the goods (thanks to young enslaved elves) to our homes while the kids are asleep (I tried to stay awake but I suspect you bribed my parents to give me some sleeping pills).

I think this year I have been extra kind and patient and loving and dedicated and ….because I faced my husband’s attempt at cartwheeling graciously above his bike but ending with broken ribs and clavicle. I also spared my son an untimely death when he decided wait all summer before making his next move in his job’s quest. These last days I’ve also become a dog carrier while waiting for her surgery, moving her from room A to B and vice versa 10 seconds later. All that without complaining!

So I’d be forever grateful if you could bring me these books under the Christmas tree.”

And that’s where I show you the goodies ladies and gents!

The Empire of Gold by SA Chakraborty : the conclusion of the EPIC Daevabad trilogy!

Credence by Penelope Douglas: the blurb is giving me delicious thrills.

Chosen by Kiersten White: I want to watch who Nina will become!

Aurora Burning by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kauffman: because Kal is MINE!

Where the Lost Wander by Amy Harmon: because Amy + Historical = Magic;

One of Us Is Next by Karen McManus: as I loved One of Us is Dying!

A Heart so Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer: it’s Grey’s story!

My Maddie by Tillie Cole: as Flame is the most broken, tortured, touching, badass ..

Imagine Me by Tahereh Mafi: because it’s the last one and we were left on a huge cliffy!

Great and Precious Things by Rebecca Yarros: I love the cover and I need an ugly cry (she usually never fails to deliver).

Now do tell me: what would you like under the Christmas tree this year?

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. No books for me this Christmas! Part of my book buying ban! I have to say, A Heart so fierce and broken was amazing and I love Grey. I hope you can get it as soon as it releases <3

  2. LOL! The start to your post had me almost choking on my sandwich I was laughing so hard. I’m super excited for the release of Credence by Penelope Douglas. She said online which guy do you think she chooses (from the synopsis) and now I have NO clue lol!

    1. Oh Jen I don’t want to kill you while writing these kind of posts! Making you laugh though…certainly 😉

  3. I love how you qualified that as *somewhat* good haha! Hopefully Santa cuts us some slack this year, no? 🙂 And ooh Chosen looks amazingsauce.

That cover for Imagine Me is AWESOME.

      1. Depending on the price I could send it to you and then you could send it back if you want it really bad! I just want to get it back in the end because it’s signed and personalised and it remind me of a beautiful time I had with the author 🙂

  4. I get so jealous, when someone shows an ARC of One of Us is Next. That is one of my most anticipated books for next year. I loved McManus’ past books, and what a treat, that we get TWO from her in 2020

  5. Stabbing elves and chopping antlers??!!! Don’t mess with Sophie at Christmastime! LOL I am so excited for the latest from Amy Harmon. She is always so fantastic. And Great and Precious Things… for when I’m super emotional! 🙂

  6. ALL THE YES to A Heart So Fierce and Broken. Empire of Gold? Ehhh … I want it to end SO badly … but, at the same time, I’m terrified to see where this story goes.
