Hi friends,
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Today’s theme is : Comfort Reads
OK I get that the notion of comfort read can be different for everyone. Maybe you find comfort in a horror book while I would not be able to sleep for days if I read such story!
But my own comfort reads are stories either stories that:
1)Give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. These reads make me have hope in humanity in general and forget all the atrocities of the world.
Most of the time, these books have incredible cinnamon roll characters! You know, the ones that are inherently good! PS Heartstopper would be one of these books I think

2) Are books filled with amazing banter and humor! There is nothing better than a good laugh to save a bad day!

3) Or they are books written by authors that I know exactly what to expect of. Authors who give me great stories, always with a “type” of character who are their trademark and that I know that I will read it nearly in one sitting. When I begin their books, it’s like wearing a favorite comfy sweater. Annette Marie and Tijan are these kind of authors for me!

Thanks for reading!
Sophie

The House on the Cerulean Sea often comes up when people talk about comfort books. I’m looking forward to reading it someday.
For me, comfort books are books I enjoy returning to, over and over. The one constant is that they end well, and there is a hopefulness, an optimism that runs through them.
Well I think based onwhat you explained about your comfort reads that The House would become a comfort read for you!
I really need to read Wolfsong! I own but but have yet to get to it.
It is indeed an amazing one!
So many of my faves here! TJ Klune’s books always give me warm, fuzzy feelings too <3
Exactly! He is such an amazing writer!
I’m determined to (finally) read Wolfsong this year!
Fingers crossed and pinky promises Tanya LOL
Great picks! I still need to read Red Winter!
Thank you Kayla!
I know you listed Kinsella under banter and humor, but her books always leave me with a warm heart too. I am a HUGE fan.
I am a huge fan too Sam as under all the laughter she has pretty deep topics!
I really loved Wolfsong, that one was just amazing. TJ Klune I can see as the perfect comfort author to go to.
He truly is isn’t he?
