Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s TTT topic is: a genre freebie!
And I decided to emulate Suzanne The Bookish Libra and go with Historical Fiction!
Only… I was unable to stop at ten (surprise, surprise) so you will get a longer list here!
Also I seem to have some weird milestone with WWII where it’s either WWII, pre WWII (and that can go to the prehistory) to post WWII. No Before Christ (BC) for me it seems. Oh well… LOL
Post WWII historical fiction (so, not so far ago)

WWII stories (as you can see I ADORE WWII stories)

Pre WWII stories (and that can go waaaaay back)

Thanks for reading!
Sophie

I went back and forth over whether to consider Malibu Rising a historical fiction. It’s hard to consider the 80’s as historical as that’s when I was a teenager! LOL
I know!!!!! LOL Same with Where the Crawdads Sing as it’s not so far away and yet…
Great list, Sophie! I want to read more historical fiction and Kate Quinn and Amy Harmon are two authors on my TBR.
I know you are going to love them Lindsey!
Ha! Sophie, I’ve either read a lot of these already, or they’re sat on my TBR waiting, and I have Lessons in Chemistry on order. 😀
I know you’ll love that one Alex!
We were twins this week, haha! I loved all of these books too. Great choices!
Thank you Suzanne!
I think the only historical fiction I’ve read was Rebel Sky by Veronica Rossi and I was completely enchanted. I need to check out these other ones!
I loved Rebel Sky as well Jen!
KATE QUINN KATE QUINN KATE QUINN
Yes! And I can’t wait for her next book!
These all sound awesome and I have actually read some. Not surprised for Salt to the Sea on here too. 😀
I don’t read much historical fiction, but I’m definitely tempted by some of these
It’s such a fun one!
The Nightingale again! I mean this in a good way because it was a stupendous book, and it deserves to be on all these lists.
It’s such an amazing read Sam!
