Hi friends,
Friday Face-Off is a weekly meme created by Books by Proxy! This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. Each Friday, we will pit cover against cover and choose our favorite. If you want to join the fun, choose a book each Friday that fits that week’s predetermined theme. Compare two or more different covers available for that book, and pick your favorite. A list of future weeks’ themes are available at Lynn’s Book Blog. Easy right?
This week’s theme: “Windows to the soul?”
~ a cover featuring a WINDOW
I confess that YA or romance don’t have many windows on the covers BUT that’s something I see much more often on thrillers, mysteries and crimes!
Maybe because the bad guy is spying on his prey before committing a crime? Or because often drama happens behind closed door but someone catches a glimps of it through the window (cue Girl on the Train)???
Anyway, I was saved today by Lisa Jewel and her Watching You !
Atria 2018
AW Bruna Uitgevers 2019
Printz Publishing 2019
Milady 2019
Jotema 2020
Neri Pozza 2020
And this week my favorite is…
What would be your choice?
Thanks for reading!
Omg, it took me way too long to realize this was all the same book none of them particularly look very appealing to me.. except the “original one” that you picked.
It also kinda bothers me how the one translated in french doesn’t make sense at all?? instead of watching you, that one translate directly to “all your secrets” .. while I know it’s not always best to go for direct translations, they could’ve atleast went for something closer..
I love the Lisa Jewell cover. The blue and yellow together pop, I love it!
Yes!
I LOVE the first cover, but the second one is beautiful too ✨
Agreed!
I really loved Watching You. Such a twisty story. And my favorite cover is the Atria one, too.
I want to try one of her books one day Tanya!
I like the one you picked, but I like the second one too
That was nearly a tie Sam!
I also like the first cover the best! Mystery and Thrillers do have a lot of windows it’s true. I hadn’t noticed before.
Well that’s what I discovered here LOL
I think the second one is my favorite! I like the darker colors and how they contrast with the title and the light in the window.
Lindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
Well it was a close second 🙂
Yes, I also noticed thriller books tend to have a lot of “window” covers, lol. I like the one you chose for your winner, it’s got splashes of different colors to make it interesting!
I like the same one you do!
Yes!
I love the first and second covers the best. Mystery does have lots of windows
That’s what I noticed Tammy!
I like your choice!
Thank you!
You’re welcome!
