Hello dear friends,
Time for a monthly wrap-up already!
It’s Easter weekend and it feels like spring here.
It was about time as I’m really exhausted by the long winter, short days and long commuting hours. Work has been really intense the whole month and added to winter plus my kids problems with the school I really needed some down time. I’m not on a break but the long weekend and some gardening are already helping.
Yesterday I took a day off blogging. I needed to have a lazy day just walking, reading etc.
March has been filled with the Book Author Challenge. It was really fun but again a lot of work. I will have a rest this month but, but, but….WHAT WILL I DO??????
Well I want to read more, post more reviews and hopefully do all the memes and awards I’m due.Have some discussion topics agin. Back to basics.
What have I read this month? In descending order (click on the picture if you want to read the review)
Restore Me by Tahere Mafi = 6 stars
Blood and Sand by C.V.Wyk = 5 wild stars
Love My Way by Kate Sterritt = 5 brilliant and nearly DNF stars
As Kate Sterritt was a “New to me author” it’s also part of my Ultimate Reading Challenge for March!
The Lucky Ones by Tiffany Reisz = 5 gothic stars
The Boy and His Ribbon by Pepper Winters = 4,5 stars
One disappointment: 806 by Cynthia Weil = 3 stars
I have read 4 other books but the reviews etc. will be published in April.
As I’ve mentioned above I have published every single day for the Book Author Challenge and you can find them on the blog.
I’ve participated in the Top 5 Tuesday organised my Shanah at Bionicbookworm and the one I loved most because the idea was really original and fun was: Top 5 characters that would win survivor!
Find it HERE
I wrote a small non book related post that got surprisingly many reactions: Are you a dog or a cat lover? Click on the picture.
I also wrote one more “Blogging Bolder” about “101 attending book signing” that I hope could help others. Find it below and click on the picture.
I’ve also participated in the “Who Runs the World ? Meet your next heroine” where I got to gush about one of my favorite heroine by Amy Harmon: Eva Rosselli in From Sand and Ash. Click on the picture to read the post.
I’ve been also very lucky to participate in “newbloggers 101” organised by Evelina onΒ “General intro on Bookstagram”. Find the post http://avalinahsbooks.space/newbloggers-101-general-intro-to-bookstagram/
Writing this post was special for me as I’ve become passionate about bookstagrams. I didn’t have an Instagram account one year ago but when I discovered how artistic book photography could be I wanted to try. I’m a repressed painter as it takes too much time to paint with oil, my favorite medium but as I always love creating this was the perfect outlet for said creativity.
You can find some of my latest bookstagrams in the left menu, instagram widget. Don’t hesitate to follow me π
I love Instagram as it’s essentially based on pictures and you get to add the text you want, be it a review, life update, questions, etc.
So that’s it for this month! Tomorrow you’ll get my April TBR and my April’s plans.
Have you read any book mentioned above? Any recommendation for next month?
Thanks for reading!
Sophie
I love how you gave Restore Me 6 stars! It goes to show just how much you really enjoyed that book. And there are quite a lot of 5 and 4 star ratings and above, so you really did have a brilliant reading month. I hope the weather gets warmer and the days are a bit more relaxing soon.

I really need more sun too. I like having more daylight at the end of the day already. Winter always make me more tired as it goes dark so soon. I hope April will bring you more Spring weather. And more 5 star reads. π
