Today is Sunday, time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week in and out of the blog. As usual I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly @caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life  first

Some meh news first: I have a migraine for two days now (again) but feel better today. I hate when that happens as I was just useless yesterday and slept most of the day!

It’s getting out of control again and I blame the lockdown as I can’t go to my reflexology “séances” like I used to do! Since November, nothing anymore and that was the only thing that helped with these migraines!

To make it even more painful, I have suffered from huge belly cramps at night and during the day for two weeks, waking me up in the night and preventing me to have enough sleep.

But the good news is that I went to the doctor on Friday and she gave me something that seems to really be working so yay! One less problem!

Now let’s get to better news!

My daughter nailed her partials at university!!! 😀  She had very good grades and as it’s her first year learning law I am so proud of her!

She had worked so hard, all while distance learning for months now, that I really wanted her efforts to be rewarded!

My son passed too and is now onto his second part of his training so these are only great news!

Of course, we could not go without having a little fright because my daughter called me on Thursday afternoon, telling me she had fallen from the frozen stairs in her dorm and was vomiting all the time.

HER: “What should I do mom?”

ME: “You are vomiting? Go straight away to the ER!”

HER: “But no I don’t have time for that! I didn’t hurt my head, just shook it.”

ME: “Yes but even without a blow if it’s badly shaken you can have a trauma! Vomiting is a bad sign so at least, phone to our family doctor!”

She did that and of course, he sent her to the doctor to check everything.

Results: she has a mild trauma in her head. If everything gets better in the coming days, she shouldn’t have sequels.

Kids!

Now some good news again: I have been chosen as a rep for @bookbookowl on IG again (I am super happy as Jen’s bookmarks are amazing) and yesterday, a recent small shop contacted me to ask me to represent them too. I was so surprised as usually I have to enter a rep search and cross my fingers! If you are interested, said shop is @craftedofstarlight and she has opened it to help her parents pay her tuition at university.

And I also made a fun (at least I hope it’s fun) reel on Instagram after falling in love with the Stalking Jack the Ripper ‘s series. I am wondering how Thomas Cresswell would solve the mystery of the disappearing sock..

On the blog this week (click on the garphic to read the post)

I wrote two reviews and one post about the Top Ten Tuesday. That relaxed way of blogging is better for me.

The Revelation of Light and Dark by Sawyer Bennett is a brand new series where she goes into fantasy territory! I loved that first instalment!

Escaping from Houdini by Kerri Maniscalcol was just amazing! In the meantime, I have finished Capturing the Devil ans hope to post my review next week!

This Top Ten Tuesday I talked about my favorite romance books.

Now question for you all: I am listening to The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah but there is something not working for me. Plsu it’s soooooo depressing. Is there anyone else feeling the same?

How was your week?

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. Ouch! Good thing she met a doctor for a mild trauma. You really don’t want to take those lightly only to discover you have a severe concussion that needed treatment! 😮 😮 Happy for all the positive news that balanced that out though. Hope you get better soon too with all the migraines and stock pains, Sophie! 😮

  2. Migraines are indeed awful, hope you’re feeling better by now! And that must have been quite scary, what happened to your daughter. Glad to hear she went to the doctor after all and hope she’ll feel better soon too. But great news about their exams! Hope you’ll have a great week!

  3. Congratulations to your daughter! And to you! But oh my gosh so sorry to hear about her fall! I’m glad it’s not more serious, but yeah that’s scary. Poor kid! Sorry to hear about your too- hope you are feeling better!

  4. Sorry to hear about the migraine and the stomach pains! Sounds miserable. Thank goodness you convinced your daughter to call the doctor… and that she will be okay. That was a scary fall. I hope this is a better (safer) week for you both!

  5. Congrats on your reps!

Migraines are absolutely rubbish aren’t they, I can totally sympathise.

Hope your daughter is ok now after her fall.

The Sawyer Bennett book, im totally intrigued, shall I get it?

  6. So much here. Let’s start with I am glad the doctor was able to find something to relieve some of your pain, and that is scary that your daughter fell and was vomiting. Concussions are no joke. Happy she is ok. Congratulations of all the household scholastic successes and being pick as a rep again. *applause, applause* I sure hope you can resume your “seances” soon. Nobody deserves to be in pain like that for days at a time. Hope this week is better for you.

  7. Glad to hear your son and daughter did well with exams. And happy to hear your daughter is okay after her fall! That would give any parent a fright! Hope your migraines abate! Happy reading Sophie!

  8. Congratulations on your daughter and son doing so well – what a credit to them during such a turbulent time! Sorry about the migraine:(. It always leaves you so wrung out… I really enjoyed your video:). Have a lovely week, Sophie:)).

  9. Sorry to hear that your good news was peppered with some unhappy news too. Your cramps and migraines are a worry, but your daughter’s fall? Oh my, I am so glad you insisted she get medical advice, as vomiting is a bad sign. I hope she recovers and you too, Sophie. So many migraines is not good. Do take good care of yourself, and your fanily.
