Top Ten Tuesday is featured by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s topic is : a genre freebie!
When I began this blog, I read almost exclusively romance and some YA. Since 2017, my tastes changed a lot and I now need to switch genres to keep things interesting!
So today I chose to talks about my favorite reading genres (plural) and my favorite books by genres that I have read in 2023 so far.
This feels like preparing my Best of 2023 already 😉
Be warned that you’ll get more than 10 books!
Fantasy
I read a lot of fantasy and in 2023 I have four big favorites so far!

Crime/mystery
I began reading crime and mysteries about one year ago. It was my favorite genre as a teenager but then I stopped reading these stories. Now that I have found my way to them I have read some incredible crime/mysteries!

Cozy mysteries
I had never read cozy mysteries in al my life but now that I discovered the genre, I am totally addicted!

Romance and historical fiction
I pair these two as sometimes, my historical fiction is also a romance and I don’t know if I must consider them as historical fiction or romance. And as I am making the rules on this blog, here you are LOL

Contemporary
Under “contemporary” you can have woman fiction or simply fiction written by women in a contemporary world.

Young Adult
Last but not least, I also read young adult stories. I have two ugly cry books and real gems for you here.

When I see all the different genres that I read, it’s no surprise that I don’t get in book slumps. I can never get bored!
Thanks for reading.
Sophie

Great selection, Sophie! I need to get back to reading some Bardugo! 😀
Yes you do Lashaan!
Great list you have here. I am glad to see you loved these so much. I did love that Amy Harmon. But personally don’t plan on Fourth Wing. Not my type of fantasy. But most are enjoying it which I am happy for. Hope the rest of the year brings you great reads.
Thank you Renee and for you as well!
I’ve been reading more YA fantasy this year and I’m surprised by that. I hope these genre’s keep you finding great reads!
Thank you Kayla!
Katherine Center books are always a good idea. I have loved them all!
Me too! So much!
You definitely have a good start on your end of the year list
Agreed!!!
I think for the first time ever I have not read a single book you shared. How is that possible?! I love how your favorites spread across several genres.
How is that possible indeed?? LOL
I bought Fourth Wing, and I’m trying so hard to find time to read it, Sophie. Nice list!
I can’t wait for your review then Teri! No pressure at all LOL
Fourth Wing and Hell Bent
