Hi friends,

Today is Sunday, time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week in and out of the blog. As usual I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly @caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

First I have to apologize as I have so many comments to reply to! I did blog hop and commented on your respective blog as much as I could but I had a very busy week, not only with work but tons of things to do for the kids (as in being a driver and spending a whole day waiting for the event to be finished).

As a result, I didn’t have many time in the evening to reply.

Plus I kind of felt lazy and the need to just read or go outside for long walks and soak in the sun.

The perk of my week was a visit to a friend who is living close to Brussels!

I had to go to Brussels for the kid and decided to wait in a pleasurable way visiting my friend I haden’t seen for months!

We both were extra careful: I put a mask while inside of her house, we stayed either in her garden with more than 2 meters apart or we went for a 2 hours walk in the countryside, me wearing the mask all the time. We walked side by side so that’s better than talking to someone face to face.

I hadn’t realized how much I missed socializing! Yes we kept in touch through social media and facetime but walking in the countryside on that sunny day, chatting with her even when I wore a mask all along (and sanitized and washed then rewashed my hands again and again) was so enjoyable!

What the kid did was something important for the future (no telling more) and we had to be up and dandy at 4 am to avoid traffic jam! With the long wait and few sleep hours, I got a migraine that lasted three days, hence not helping with replying to comments! Sorry!

Last but big news today: my site is officially running in https!!!!!

I was afraid to take that move as so many things can go wrong! But once again, my super hubby took matters in his own very capable hands (he is paid to work with computers all day, every day) and everything went smoothly!

Thank you Caro from CJR The Brit who checked my blog for me!

I just had to prepare tons of coffee for the hubs as a down payment and I’ll probably bake some chocolate cake or buy some salty treat as a thank you 😀

And he also fixed my problem of replying to comments on the post self!!!!!!

On the blog (click on the graphic to read the post)

I have only reviewed two books this week even if I have read three more! I am not only behind replying to comments but also writing reviews.

Truel1f3 by Jay Kristoff was amazing! I was angry with book two but Jay is now back in my good grace with an ending like that one! 5 stars.

Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust is a gorgeous edition from the Fairyloot box. It held many promises but sadly along the way, after an excellent start, it just lost me. 3,5 stars.

I wrote a post about my favorite heroine and without many surprises, it was Nina Zenik !

On Top 10 Tuesday it was a free topic as that was the tenth birthday of that meme! I chose to do one that I really loved: book titles that would make great band manes!

And Friday Face-Off was all about looking through the window!

I am sorry this week just a quiz, no blog post …

Epic Reads asks you to build a summer playlist and they’ll give you a book rec!

And I’ll give you something to have you shake your booty like I did this morning  when I heard that song!

Have a great Sunday! I will now go visit your blogs and finally reply to all these comments! Love you all and stay safe!

Thanks for reading

Sophie

  1. That sounds great how you had a safe visit with your friend in real life. And that’s awesome your husband changed your blog to https, mine is still on http as my hosting charges for https, so I haven’t looked into it yet. Sorry to hear about your 3 day migraine :(, that’s a pain. I hope this week went better. The weather here has been a lot cooler, so I assume over there as well.

  2. Hooray for having a nice visit with a friend… face to face! And an extra hooray for having a talented hubby. 🙂

  3. I love Brussels! My FB feed has been showing me all my pictures from my day there which was 3 years ago! I’m glad you were able to socialize and fill that need. Hope you have a great week!

  4. Wonderful you got to spend time with your friend, Sophie and good you’re taking precautions. Your hubby is a handy guy to have around – glad the switch went smoothly!

  5. Congrats to the hubby and yourself on the switch – I wish more bloggers would make their sites secure.

  6. I can very much sympathize with your joy in reconnecting with friends face to face! When I was able to do so – wearing masks, and being careful about distance, of course – it filled a big missing part of my life and made it so much better… 🙂

  7. Nice that your hubby helped with the switch. I have to prevail upon my hubby for computer issues when I get into something tricky, too. It’s nice to have someone who knows what they’re doing in the household, right?

Sorry to hear about your migraine, but yay for getting to visit with a friend. Take care, Sophie! 🙂

  8. Congrats on switching! Hope it goes smoothly and no glitches!!!

I’m so impressed with how you took precautions even while visiting and walking with your friend. I see people here just hanging out and there are no masks or distancing, and I’m like… why did we lockdown for two months only to just throw it all away now??? Anyway… glad you had a nice visit. 🙂

    Brussels sounds awesome right now.

    Rihanna lol! 🙂

  9. I’m glad you got to socialize with your friend. It’s something we all took for granted before, right? Hope you have lovely week

  10. Three cheers for your husband! It’s nice to have someone with such a skillset in your corner. Sounds like you had a lovely day with your friend too.

  11. Yes… it is tricky socialising – but it’s when you start to get out and about that you realise how much you’ve missed seeing people. So glad you were able to catch up with your friend:). And how handy to have such a capable husband – and that he is happy to roll up his sleeves and set things sorted out. I hope you have a really good week:))

  12. Happy to see you had a great week visiting your friend, always such fun to do that. Now that things are opening up again, it feels so nice to socialize and just be around people again. I had forgotten how much I really needed it. Migraines are the worst so hope you are feeling better.

  13. Wonderful kind of man to have around in these situations, Sophie. But I bet he’s good for a lot more than https, otherwise you wouldn’t have married him! 😉 Glad to hear you got to see your friend. I did a skype chat with my niece and saw her kids. Growing so fast. It’s better than nothing.
