Today is Sunday, time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week in and out of the blog. As usual I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly @caffeinatedreviewer .
In my private life first
I know that I haven’t posted last week but with the lockdown still being on, there is not much happening in my life!
BUT
This Monday my mom had her first dose of vaccine (the Moderna).
She got a mail to make an appointment and it went very fast. She is fine and dandy and can’t wait for her second dose mid April!
I confess that I too can’t wait to get vaccinated especially as the epidemy is flaring up again! We are too slow with the vaccine in Belgium.
Other news: my daughter had lost her student job as she was working in a restaurant and it’s been closed since November.
So yesterday I drove her to different places to have her leave her CV and hope to find a summer job. She needs the money to buy clothes and extra while we are paying for her studies and lodging…
Other than that, I am very tired as work has been insane this week and my colleagues feel the workload.
They exploded on Friday and ranted about it. As I am their boss, I listened (they were not angry with me, just exhausted and overworked) but it drained my energy. Give me “file” problems, no worries but people’s problems are always draining as I empathize a lot!
But hey, to recharge, I made two more funny reels since the last time and I’ll leave them here below if you want to laugh or smile.

And the second one…

Well I wrote a review for three books, even if I have read four!
Then this week I posted about my recent favorite book boyfriend in our Meet You Next Book Boyfriend tour!
And the Top Ten Tuesday was all about books that I want to read this spring!
Thanks for reading!
Great news on your mum’s vaccine! My mum and father-in-law got their first doses only a few days apart a few weeks ago which was great. My mother-in-law is in Ireland though and still waiting… 🙁
I’m sorry to hear another wave is looming… I’m just starting to get hopeful that we’ll slowly be let out of lockdown in the next few week, as planned, so it’s super worrying hearing about other countries getting hit with another round of restrictions.
Yay for your mom getting her first dose! My husband gets his second dose tomorrow, at his work, and I’m so excited for him! And thinking all the happy thoughts that your daughter can find a new job! And HUGS for work, here’s hoping this next week goes a billion times better!
I’m still waiting for mine… School staff are not priority apparently, even though we’ve been working in the classroom all throughout the lockdowns (not closed like the media kept saying!). So frustrating!
Glad for your mom! Hope you daughter finds a job soon and I hope you don’t get tired of yours because of the negativity around you!!
I’m happy to hear your mom got her first shot. We got our first dose this week too. It’s very tiring because it has been going on for over a year now.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
So happy to hear that your mum got her first shot and that she had no bad side effects. That must be such a relief for you, Sophie. And sorry about your daughter. My nephew is in the same predicament, he’s just finished college, and is looking but no one is hiring, obviously, because of the pandemic. And hope your staff and you hang in there with work. I can imagine the strain is difficult.
Great news that your mother was able to get her first dose of the vaccine! I go for my second one in a week and will be so relieved. Love the IG Reels. You’re so creative! 🙂
My state is super slow with vaccines. I’ll probably the last person lol I’m a stay at home mom so I don’t qualify at all yet. >.< Although my husband already got it, so that's good! Happy reading 🙂
Yay for your mom! Hope you get yours soon, Sophie. Hubby, sons, and I have all had our first, and the last is coming up the second week in April.
This has become a strange world indeed as we feel the satisfied thrill of having received our life-saving vaccination! But on the other hand it’s the first step toward going back to normalcy, and we all look forward to that 🙂
That’s great that your mom got the vaccine and that she is well!! Also, best of luck for your daughter! The job situation with covid is quite grim!
That’s so great that your mom has gotten her first dose of the vaccine. I hope that you’ll be able to get yours soon too. That’s a shame about your daughter’s job. I hope she’ll be able to find something else soon.
I am glad your mom got her vaccine, and hopefully you’ll get yours soon.
It will be great when we can all have some normalcy.
Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog.
Ahh so exciting !! Yay for your mother receiving the vaccine; mine is scheduled for her first dose next saturday She’ll be getting the Pfizer one. Although I may have to wait until June (or even later) for mine, i’m so relieved that she’d have hers, so some of my stress is lifted off my shoulder because if I happen to contract it at work somehow or something – I know she’s protected and it won’t kill her.
We’ve been in the same boat workwise too.. last week I had worked 6days a week and today/tomorrow was *finally* my two days off again … and I got asked to get in extras because people keep quitting out of nowhere xP Thanksfully for me, i’m not that desperate for money rofl so I declined and spent most of my day sleeping on and off :]
Yay for your mom! That’s wonderful! I had the moderna vaccine too. I get my 2nd dose in 2 weeks. Hopefully you get one soon. They opened up eligibility in my state to everyone over 18, but its impossible to get an appointment. I’m glad mine is through my school and I didn’t have to worry about it.
Hopefully things get better at work! Being empathetic can be so draining emotionally.
Wonderful that your mom got her first dose! Hopefully they speed things up with distribution in your country!
I wish your daughter luck with her job search! Have a lovely week, Sophie!
That’s wonderful that your mother is half-way to vaccinated! I know I felt better once my dad got his. Fingers crossed you get yours soon. Good luck to your daughter! Our economy has been coming back in some places. Not sure how it is by you, but I am hopeful there’s some jobs out there.
I’m glad your mom got her dose! And hopefully you get yours soon. I’m still working on my mom. lol
Your videos are great! 🙂
I recall your mom not wanting to get it Greg. Hopefully you’ll wear her down LOL
I’m so glad your mom was able to get her vaccine. Starting tomorrow people 55 years and older will be eligible in Alabama, so I’ll be trying to make an appointment.
This is exciting news Kim!!!
So glad she got her vaccine, I’m getting mine on Saturday (Oxford I think and everyone seems to be ill after it so I’m not planning anything for the weekend!!)
Oooh that’s great news Caro!
I cant wait on one hand but on the other I don’t want to be too ill!!!
That’s great your mom got vaccinated. My parents are still waiting for theirs. I got vaccinated since I’m a nurse. Had flu side effects but luckily they lasted a day. Now the vaccine has been paused because people who’ve had it has died or suffering blot clots. So I don’t know if I’ll want the second shot. Currently reading The Songbook of Benny Lament and I’m beyond hooked. Superb review of that book, Sophie. Take care and stay safe.
Thank you Malene! About the blood clot, they used that vaccine on millions of people in the UK and they don’t seem to have problems.
I’m aware but we had to new cases here in the country. One died and one is in intensive care. Still I’m a little apprehensive about it.
I’m so glad your mom got the vaccine! Both my parents have too, its a relief People here are lying just to get the vaccine early and skip in front of other people, it makes me so mad!
That’s great that your mom got her vaccine. I hope you gets yours soon. We’ll be getting our second doses later this week.
I hope I’lll get it too!
It’s been the same old here too. I did get the one shot vaccine. Had a rough reaction to it for a few days but all better now. I hope you can get yours soon.
Thank you Laura! I am happy to know that you are now protected!
