April has been another incredibly busy and exciting month as a blogger. I never imagined I would one day post nearly every day knowing I’ve a “regular” job, have two kids, a husband and a dog! But that’s what happened another month.
I have to thank authors and bloggers for this high feat as they all give me ideas and the energy to go on.
I just have to pinch me every day knowing that I did this!
Here is my month in reviews
Untouchable by Isabel Love -> http://amzn.to/2nZztqh
This brand new author with her first book has created a sweet story perfect for romance lovers.
It’s been really easy to follow Max and Monica in their budding relationship. This is one of these books that takes you by the hand, immerse you in a bubble of pink and leave you with a smile by the end.
Dirty by Kylie Scott ->http://amzn.to/2nY2HTq
It’s been a mild disappointment but it remains a good romance story with a funny and moving female character accompanied by a bunch of incredible side characters!
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black -> http://amzn.to/2nXX0oH
10 monsters stars!!! It’s a unique story featuring a young desperate girl and a very compelling vampire. Truly intriguing and enthralling!
A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi –> http://amzn.to/2oT1vER
This story reminded me of some Persian tales with flourishes at every turn and lyrical sentences. You’ll get your fill of colors, smells, tastes, magical creatures and fantasy landscapes. It’s a world where rubies fall from snakes mouths where golden apples stick to your hand giving you hunger like you’ve never experienced and beautiful women can kill you with a bare touch.
Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre -> http://amzn.to/2oT1G2R
These are only words but they made me fall in love with the book and I never recovered. This introduction sets the tone and the pace of the story, it IS Hollywood Dirt.
Words are powerful when used properly and I could feel the bite of mosquitoes, die in the heat of the day, see Summer cottage in the cotton field, admire the majestic plantations and taste Summer’s sweet tea. With just words, Alessandra Torre made me feel this town, this community, this story deep in my bones.
Stop! By Alyson Bailey -> http://amzn.to/2oT06Oz
This standalone made me cry and think and… It’s a teen fiction broaching several delicate topics with a twist I did not see coming. Once again have tissues at the ready!
Wrong Turn, Right Direction by Elle Casey -> http://amzn.to/2oimU6S
Well this book was good but not as good as I expected. Like me eating and liking carrots but preferring chocolate if you get me. Thibault was the real star of the book and saved the story for me as well as his family and friends. My main problem was not connecting with the female character.
Arranged by Lexi Blake –> http://amzn.to/2nW7HMq
This book has been a very nice surprise. I had never read anything by Lexi Blake and so it took me by surprise. I expected reading a book about a king being thrown into an arranged marriage but certainly not for the bride to be so…commending. I loved the heck out of Day!
The Coppersmith Farmhouse by Devney Perry –> http://amzn.to/2nW4eO9
Really, really, really loved this one! It has a KA (Kirsten Ashley) feel with the hot alpha and fiery heroine but with a softer undertone and less grunting if I may say so. I’m now a fan or Mrs Perry’s writing!
The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski -> http://amzn.to/2nWadCo
An absolute MUST READ for fans of dystopian /imaginary world lovers. I love Kestrel and her brilliant mind, her compassion, her love for music and I fell head over heel for proud Arin.
The Golem and The Djinni by Helene Wecker -> http://amzn.to/2nVT0co
Imaginative, meticulous, enchanting. I loved this story filled with non human creatures as main protagonists but feeling so much more than humans sometimes.
The Gravity of Us by Brittainy C. Cherry -> http://amzn.to/2qsvfpg
I was a blubbering mess! One of my favorite for this month. Just read it if you want well written romance, huge emotional roller coaster and a sunny heroine that reminded me of Louisa Clark.
The Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn -> http://amzn.to/2qsIeqN
A book that made me laugh so hard I was crying and heaving and… It’s a real RomCom and I dare you not to end with belly ache due to an overload of laugh.
The Mason List by SD Hendrickson –> http://amzn.to/2qlIyZi
Goodreads Choice Award semi finalist 2015, over 7600 review… do I need to tell more? I absolutely adored this childhood sweethearts romance.
My Lucky Days by SD Hendrickson –> http://amzn.to/2qlBxYt
Girl next door and country star romance. Sweet with some angst and sad moments. I loved it as well. S D Hendrickson is one of my “go to” authors.
In YA : One of Us is Lying by Karen M. MacManus ->http://amzn.to/2qlUnie
I’ve got an ARC of this first work by Karen M MacManus and it’s been a really, really good surprise. Agatha Christie mix with Gossip Girl in High School. Who is the murderer? One of my favorite this month!
The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar -> http://amzn.to/2pjIAlI
Really, all the rave about this book is well deserved. Just read it, especially if you’re in a bookhangover and miss your quality reading fix.
A Surrogate Love Affair by Jaimie Roberts –> http://amzn.to/2qss1ll
Make up your mind about this one. I disliked the first 35% but enjoyed the rest and was amazed with the epilog.
Now aside all these fantastic reads, I’ve also been incredibly lucky with author’s interviews.
