Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

As it’s the first Sunday of the month, I’ll also give you my favorite reads of december.

In my private life

You could say that this week has been crazy busy and that I deserve a super hero cape!

At work we had several people being sick and I had to save the day and handle files with my teams. Because if you want to be a good leader, you have to walk the talk and get your hands dirty when things get heated!

And yesterday I also played taxi driver for my daughter, something that wasn’t planned and should have been Beware of the Husband’s role. But that was without counting on a flat tire…

But the highlight of my week has been to learn that my glasses were still good for probably another two years. My sight didn’t deteriorate in the last four years so yay! Because these glasses cost an arm and a leg! Aging sucks, I am telling you…

And per usual, I am leaving you with some funny reals…

The first is about being unable to stop reading.

And the second is an unpopular opinion… about sex filler in books!

November wrap-up (click on the graphic to read the post)

In november I read 14 books! So I am very happy with it! And four were big favorites!

Beyond the Wand by Tom Felton had me want to become his friend!

I don’t often read thrillers but These Silent Woods by Kimmi Cunningham Grant was so atmospheric!

By a Thread by Lucy Score is how romcom with enemies to lovers should be done! The banter is outstanding!!

And my huge crush this month is… Cursed by Marissa Meyer. What a storyteller she is!!!

And if you didn’t know, since last week, my Best Reads of 2022 has begun!

Thanks for reading.

Sophie

  1. It’s definitely been the season – people seem to be falling ill every day so fingers crossed we’ll stay healthy through it all! Good to hear you didn’t need new glasses! I’ve been struggling with my eyesight lately so I’ll need to make an appointment and I’m already dreading the costs…

  2. Yes! These Silent Woods was so good. Yeah for your eyes staying with the same prescription. I feel like my eyesight has declined. I wonder if reading a bunch puts a lot of strain on them. Guess I should do more audios.

  3. I am glad you won’t have to replace your glasses any time soon. I am hoping I won’t for awhile either. They really are expensive.

I read while doing my physical therapy exercises and just about everything I can get away with too. LOL And I am with you on the amount of sex scenes in romance. I don’t mind them, but it can’t take overshadow the characters and story.

I hope you have a great week!

  4. I completely agree! Too many sex scenes or nothing in between besides discussing or thinking about sex will have me skimming and not enjoying a book! There can be a lot in a long book, as long as it is secondary to the story!

  5. You’re a rock star! I totally agree that too many sex scenes ruin the book. I need PLOT. I don’t have real glasses yet but wear readers sometimes. I am glad to not have those issues yet. But it’s not that long ago I didn’t even need readers.

  6. Hooray the the eye prescription not changing! I have my eye appointment on the 19th and am crossing my fingers that I can say the same. Glasses (and contacts) are so ridiculously expensive! My husband and I always get back to back appointments so we walk out of there quite a bit poorer. lol
