Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week .Β I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewerΒ .

In my private life

Well not much to tell except that I had a week off work to help my daughter settle in her new dormitory but…she didn’t require so much help.

We should have gone to IKEA but she was unable to come with the train from her dorm to our house (we were meant to drive to IKEA from there) because of a new landslide!

The same landslide that made my travel to the office so long in August and that is back, again, and had me traveling for 6 hours to go to and from the office last week!!!

6 hours travel for one day work!

It’s to be noted that it’s the repair and new wall alongside the tracks that toppled after heavy rain yet again. So it’s very concerning for future train travel to the office! What if there is another downpour and I am in the train when the wall breaks again because of another landslide???

But going another way with the train is no option as you can see because of ….6 hours!

Anyway, back to my daughter, she ordered online and had it delivered at her dorm…

The highlight of my week has been meeting with one of my favorite cousins for a walk and coffee. She is the one married to an Englishman and that I used to visit at least once a year. Now they both live in Belgium but with the lockdowns it had been nearly two years since I saw her last! We were very happy to catch up!

That aside, the weather has been splendid (finally some summer) and I enjoyed reading in the sun!

OK just to make you smile, here is my latest bookreel asking if you are a book snob πŸ˜‰

Well these pas two weeks I have written 4Β  Β reviews and discovered a new huge favorite series, totally underrated: The Black Witch Chronicles

And right now I am busy reading the mammoth Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. I think it will take me at least the week to read it but it’s so good!

Before parting, I’d like to leave you with one new song that Geoff Castellucci posted two months ago because that guy is incredible!

Thanks for reading!

Sophie

  1. Oh wow, I can’t even imagine having to commute 6 hours for work. It sounds awful. I really hope they get that area sorted out so no more landslides. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying Jay Kristoff’s new book. I just got my copy yesterday and it is huge, lol.

  2. Six hours commute time – that’s so long! But you could totally get some reading done. I also got my copy of EotV but haven’t started it yet. I’ve heard fantastic things.

  3. Yeah I would be nervous too, another landslide? Yeah that scenario you described would be my worse nightmare! I’m glad you are enjoying the Jay Kristoff book though, I liked it myself but you are right, it is a massive tome! It took me a long time to read as well, and that was even in audio.

  4. Exactly NOBODY wants to spend 6 hours traveling to work. You would think they could find a way to fortify that area better. That’s wonderful you finally got to spend some time with your cousin
