I don’t know what traditions or sweets you have in your country but in Belgum we are chasing hidden chocolate eggs!
This week has been a short one!
Mammograph on Monday (everything is OK, pfew!) and I have some days off work now until next Thursday!
That gave me time to paint the book edges I had talked about last Sunday!
Here is the final “product” (I made an “how to” reel).
I was so honored when SA Chakraborty commented and shared my post!!!
It also gave me some time to test ChatGpt as I am always curious to understand how the world is tikking. I have a complicated relationship with AI, mainly because it doesn’t respect creators rights.
I know steps are being taken to protect intellectual propriety but I wouldn’t want to create art with AI as I know it’s been using artists work without compensation or recognition.
BUT
That being said, I can’t ignore what’s happening around me (at work we are encouraged to use AI tools provided by our employer so I’d better master these) and I wanted to test ChatGpt.
I asked him to give me an opening paragraph for The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon. I have read that book this week and you will get my review (WITHOUT AI) next week but I was curious what ChatGPT would give me.
Here is what it wrote:

Well I can honestly say that it was exactly how I was feeling and thinking while reading that book! I was bluffed !
But what worries me is that I don’t know whose reviews he has used and compiled to write this! So if you recognize your words here, just let me know so that I can give you the proper credit the AI didn’t give you.

AI is going to be huge in the next decade or so, it is both exciting and scary to see where it will take us! The way I see it, I’m not as keen when AI produces things wholesale but I think it’s can be quite a helpful tool when looking for ideas or inspiration.

Wow, I can see people using ChatGPT to write their reviews after reading that. I think a big lifestyle blogger who occasionally visits my blog uses it to comment. I think younger people use it all the time. I have a mental block with it, but I do have Amazon’s Alexa at my house and I ask it questions all the time. I don’t use it write my reviews, though! Your painted edges turned out so pretty! You’re so talented, Sophie!

Glad everything was okay with the mammogram. That’s important! And I love AI for helping me do work stuff (summarizing, making tables, intervention suggestions), but I get that its a double edged sword for sure.

The painted edges are beautiful! So cool the author liked them too. I’m also wary of anything AI and haven’t explored Chatgpt yet. It scares me a bit!

All things AI freak me out a little – I don’t know a whole amount about it but everything I’ve heard is… not great
I have such complicated feelings about AI. I love that it helps the medical industry to make people’s lives better, etc. But it also gets used to steal people’s art and that’s just awful. I remember a two-ish years ago when I went back to school (for ICT & Administration) we had to do an assigment with Chat GPT, and while that was a fun assignment to do, it felt a little weird we were allowed to do that haha
My son loves Chat GPT, I told him if he uses it for school work then he’s in for it!!!
