Hi friends,

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today’s theme is : Reading Goals I still want to accomplish Before the End of the Year

I consider reading as a hobby and don’t want to put too much pressure on myself.

That’s why I usually only choose two goals.

The first is the Goodreads reading goal. I set it at 50 books a year knowing that I read way more books than that!

Currently I have read 105 books and the year has still three more months!

Will I raise my goal? Nope.

The second reading goal is the 2023 Audiobook Challenge from The Caffeinated Reviewer  .

I chose the Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) level: 50+ audiobooks.

According to Goodreads, I am now at 47 audiobooks, soon to be 48! So I think I am more than on track for that goal too!

My next reading goals are more low key:

-read the ARCs I got from publishers (I have still 4 ARCs to read this month);

-read some more books to prepare for YALC next month (like The Shadow Cabinet);

-have fun on Instagram/bookstagram even if my engagement is very low for one month;

-read more of my book boxes books!

That’s it!

Thanks for reading.

Sophie

  1. Congrats on doing so well with your goals! I also surpassed my Goodreads goal but I’m keeping it as it is 🙂 Indeed better to keep the pressure low as reading is still a hobby!

  2. Great reading goals you have there. Congrats at reading above your goodreads goal! I never change mine either even if I know I will go above it. Hope you are able to finish the year off with some fabulous rewards there for you!

    Happy Weekend!

  3. Have fun preparing for YALC. That should be a great trip. You are doing so well with both your GR and audiobook challenges. My audiobook listening is way down, but I already completed my GR challenge, so I am ok with it.

  4. Like you, I don’t want to make my hobby stressful or feel like a job. I set a Goodreads goal but I purposely set it a bit low for myself. I don’t even think about it throughout the year. LOL Otherwise, the only (sort of) goal is always trying to read more (or at least as many) books from my own shelves/Kindle as I do new releases.
