Hi friends,

I have been tagged by Lashaan  @bookidote  to do this award and some of his questions were ….hard!

1. IF YOU COULD DO SOMETHING BETTER THAN YOU’RE ALREADY DOING RIGHT NOW, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Oooh I honestly don’t know…singing? LOL I have always dreamt of becoming a famous singer 😉

2. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE THIS NEW DECADE (2020-2029) TO BRING TO YOUR LIFE?

That’s a tough question. In my own life I’d say more art. That I’d get even more creative and maybe live from my art one day. I would love that.

3. IS THERE A SEQUEL TO SOMETHING THAT YOU LOOK FORWARD TO?

Oh yes! Here are some of the ones that I am waiting for:

4. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE STORIES IN ANY MEDIUM (COMICS, BOOKS, SHOWS, MOVIES, VIDEO GAMES, ETC.)?

In comics I love beautiful aesthetic. And my country is famous for its comics! Here are a few that I love (Lashaan you’ll have a field day):

And my favourite stories are moving stories. The ones that make you feel everything.

In movies now:

I loved “Out of Africa” a long time ago for the amazing African landscapes, Avatar for the colors and fantastic beasts. I even loved the first movie of Twilight! I think they should have kep that director for the whole series as she added a mood to it with that bluish tint that made everything mysterious and vaguely menacing! Plus the soundtrack was amazing and that made me fall in love with Linkin Park and Muse!

I was also impressed by “The Darkest Hour” about Churchill as I think Gary Oldman did an amazing job at portraying Churchill.

But I also love movies about singers or bands like “A Star is Born” where Bradley Cooper impressed the hell out of me when I learned that he played the guitar himself and sang. Or Bohemian Rhapsody, pure bliss!

5. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR LEAST FAVOURITES STORIES IN ANY MEDIUM (COMICS, BOOKS, SHOWS, MOVIES, VIDEO GAMES, ETC.)?

Mmmm in comics I don’t really have names of stories but for me, the aesthetic is really what will make or break a story.

In books I’d say my least favorites are erotic and smut, even if I don’t mind steam in my reads I don’t want it to be the center piece but more an accessory. I also don’t like the “romans noirs”, kind of the very dark thrillers or crime. Stories with a very high level of angst are not my favorite too (save my blood pressure please). Nor do I like non fiction usually but I don’t mind biographies.

6. WHAT DOES BLOGGING BRING TO YOUR LIFE?

Creativity, passion, a breathe of fresh air. Something and place where I can be a jokester. I have a very serious job requiring many analytical skills. I have these skills but I missed being creative and artistic. That’s a huge part if not the main part of my personality. Blogging allowed me to reconnect with this side of me.

I also love the connection with other bloggers. Some who have totally different tastes from mine but I stuck with them and now, after three years I have discovered who they are behind their reads. We chat, we make connections.

It’s also made me realize that whatever our skin color, our race, our religion, our country and our reads, we are all humans and very similar beyond the appearances.

7. IF THERE’S SOMETHING YOU COULD CHANGE OF THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

The climate.

I think that’s the more pressing matter at hand and I would want every leader in every country to enforce the necessary changes to save our planet.

8. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD EAT RIGHT NOW?

Right now? This instant? Well these huge breakfasts with granola, berries and yoghurt or an acai bowl that I discovered while travelin in the States! I am a breakfast kind of girl and rather sweet than tasty.

9. IF THERE WAS ONE MYTHOLOGICAL CREATURE THAT COULD EVER EXIST IN THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Well I kind of dig mermaids. And I would love being one as I love swimming! Now the only problem is that I am crap at singing and could never lure sailors. Well that and I don’t have a fish tail either but, details, details… 😀

10. DO YOU THINK THERE’S A CURE FOR STUPIDITY?

Yes I do! I was the first surprise but I think stupid people are only “stupid” (and that’s a relative word) because they are ignorant. So how to improve this? By enlightening them and broadening their horizon! And what better way to do that than reading?

I think haters and racists would probably change if they could read some good and moving books on these topics.

People believing all that the authority say at face value even if it’s stupid or dangerous  (I won’t name who I am thinking of but we all know “him”) would probably make up their own minds if they read books like The Hunger Games.

And if you don’t know something about a topic, just read lots of articles and books about it and you’ll become an expert.

I won’t tag anyone but if you want to do the tag, consider that you are in and Lashaan’s questions being pretty interesting, consider answering them!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hahahah absolutely love your answers, Sophie! Thank you so much for taking the time to do it and yes, you indeed did this in a record time too! 😛 I’ll have to actually hunt down some of those bandes dessinées now. It would be fun to showcase those hahaha And yes to curing stupidity through education. It would have to be an education that is convincing enough for them to understand it though! Some people just prefer being ignorant after all! 😮

  2. I love mermaids too and definitely wanted to be a popstar when I was a child. But now I am like you – one day I would love to be able to live from income that is to do with my art and my creative endevaours. And I love blogging for the same reasons as you. I also adored Bohemian Rhapsody and you know I love the Twilight films 😛 Avatar was such a cool film, but so so long 😛

  3. I love Meryl Streep but I’ve never seen Out of Africa. I agree about the first Twilight and wish they had kept the same director. I still need to see A Star Is Born. (I rarely watch movies anymore.) I’ll be a mermaid with you. I don’t sing but maybe we could have back-up singers that swam around with us. LOL

  4. Well, there you go, Sophie the Lounge Lizard sings the blues, live on stage, at the Moulin Rouge! Sorry, couldn’t resist, and now, I can see you singing your heart out every time you think no one is looking.

  5. A cure for stupidity? We really need that now. I bet you sing better than you think, and it would be amazing to live off your art. That is a very cool goal.

  6. What fun questions! And yogurt, berries and granola is the best. We always have a few kinds of granola in our pantry to go with the yogurt and fruit we always keep on hand ♥. Now I know what I’m making for a snack this afternoon.
