First I want to thank @orbitbooks_uk for the chance to know more about the formidable Red Sonja!
I have never watched any Red Sonja movie nor read any comic books so this was a first!

That’s also probably why it took me some time to fall into the book as Red Sonja unsettled me at first!
I didn’t expect her to have such carnal appetite!  And yet, why not? She is a warrior at heart and such behavior is what you expect when you embark on a warrior story.
So it’s all on me really!

Anyway my turning point was reading about her childhood! How she became what she is now. My heart hurt for her and I finally could walk in her shoes.
From that moment on, I was in and read it all in nearly one day.

What can you expect in Red Sonja?

The story focuses on one of her many adventures. She has already lived a lot and will undoubtedly still live many more but we get to accompany her to war against evil creatures.

It all began with a job that turned bad and had Red Sonja hunted by the fierce queen (and last lover) she stole from.

But instead of just escaping her pursuers Red Sonja will meet other traveling companions (read deserters) along the way and will learn of a terrible threat to her motherland. An added information that I won’t reveal will also decide Red Sonja to go to war to defend her country.
She has no fear and loves fighting so, why not right?

Ensues:
-fights;
-hot sex (but not overly long sex scenes thank god for me);
-deadly monsters;
With a big “I’m a lonesome warrior” vibe.
