Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .
In my private life
Happy Sunday!
I told you last week that I couldn’t go on with so many overtime hours, well I held onto my promise this week!
Even if I went three times to the office (instead of just once) and was up at 5 AM I did had shorter workdays. That does not mean that I run from the office once my time is off (rather I do one overtime hour) but that’s better than the 2 to 3 hours I have done for weeks!
Results: I was able to comment back and blog hop most of the week!!
And I felt less stressed this weekend! So yay!
Work aside, I don’t have anything special to report. Our weather is undecided going from sunny one day to extremely wet and gloomy the other. I am trying to put my garden in order between the rains all while managing my arms to avoid the return of tendinitis that plagued me last year. Growing old is not fun!
And I am nearly finished watching Shadow and Bone season 2! One last episode tonight!
So far I really loved the show and compared to previous season, Nina is now my favorite on the show and…Nikolai alongside with Mal.
As usual, here are two reels I made this week.
The first is about the age old question I get: How am I reading so many books?
And the second is about my opinion on Nikolai Lantsov coming alive on the screen!
On the blog this week (click on the graphic to read the post)
As I had more personal time, I posted three reviews, one of them being for the whole series!
Bonds that Tie by J Bree is a reverse harem, something I don’t usually like yet ended up really appreciating!
The second review was an unpopular opinion. I wanted so much to love When a Moth Loved a Bee by Pepper Winters, alas it was not meant to be.
The last one is a book club read that I nearly DNF because of something happening in the book that is a big red flag for me but… I soldiered on and was glad I did! The Housemaid by Freida McFadden.
That’s it! Thanks for reading!
Sophie

I am so glad that you were able to work a more reasonable schedule. It’s no fun when work takes over your life. Have a great week!
Thank you Carole!
That’s progress, Sophie! Keep on taking care of yourself when it comes to work. 😀 And hooray for audiobooks! 😀
Well Lashaan, this week was the complete opposite!
I’m glad to hear you got to slow down a bit this week, Sophie!
I haven’t started Shadow and Bone yet, but I’m so glad to hear you’re loving Nikolai 🙂
I can’t wait for you to watch it Lindsey!
I’m very obsessed with Shadow and Bone. I couldn’t sleep last night, so I started watching it again. 🙂
Bwaahahahahahah! I get it!
Ah spring, it can go to sunny to dreary and dark in a second. I hope you are enjoying Season 2 of Shadow and Bone, you should be finished by now 😀 I am still catching up with other shows before I can have time to tackle it!
I can’t wait to read your thoughts about season Two!
Good for you for slowing down, Sophie. You need that work/life balance. I just finished The Last of Us, so now I’ll start the new season of Shadow and Bone.
I can’t wait to read your thoughts about it Teri!
Here’s to a blessedly slower week and the possibility to enjoy the things you love! 🙂
Thank you Maddalena!
I am glad that your week was not as overwhelming like the last one!!
I was glad too Susy!
So happy to hear you didn’t work as much. 2-3 hours of overtime everyday sounds exhausting!
Wait for my new Sunday post Rachel… LOL
I’m so glad you got a tiny bit more balance and read some good books.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
It’s so great that you were able to get your work hours sorted out. It can definitely be hard to juggle everything. I am a huge fan of audiobooks! 🙂
Audiobooks are life saver!
So glad you were able to find a better work/life balance this past week, Sophie! Love the reel about audio books! I wouldn’t read nearly as much if I didn’t have audio books. Love them! 🙂
Audiobooks are life saver!
I’m glad you were able to get some balance at work. That is important! We had a flood warning all weekend here. It’s that time of year for us.
I hope your house didn’t have any damage from any flood!
Yay for less overtime! Hope you’re having a relaxing weekend. 🙂
That psychological thriller looks like my kind of thing. Love that tagline! 🙂
Thank you Greg!
Truth, growing old is not fun. Work is such a time-suck to start with. I refuse to work any extra. Good for you for sticking to your guns and cutting back on the OT. YES! Audiobooks is a great way to read more. Being able to read and do chores and whatnot augments my reading time for sure.
And you read so many books Sam!!
Glad you’re cutting down with work and that you’re moving S&B – Nikolai was played so well❤️
I’m glad work is slowing down and you stood up for yourself. I hope this week is the same!
Me too Tammy!
You had such a interesting week of reading here! I am glad that you enjoyed that Bree series, I just can’t do the whole reverse harem stuff, its too one sided for my taste but I know those books are super popular so I am glad that they worked out so well for you! Hopefully the weather is better this week for your garden!
Hopefully Renee!
