Today is Sunday time to look back in the rearview mirror and talk about my week . I am linking up to the Sunday Post hosted for years by Kimberly@caffeinatedreviewer .

In my private life

First, I want to say SORRY for being MIA and not having the time on the workweek to reply to your comments or visit your blogs!

I’ll do it after posting this.

Sadly, being several people short at work (two on vacation, one on sick leave for more than one month) and our team being small, I had to take on even more work to help my colleagues.

I probably worked two overhours every day and I was just exhausted by the end of the day.

I don’t see it getting better before some weeks so, apologies in advance as I think I’ll catch up two or three times a week with you all!

Otherwise we had snow one day this week! Not a speck in December, January or February but come March and here we are. That’ so weird!

In other news too, the secondhand bookshop confirmed that they would like for me to give these art classes about painting book edges and I am now working on setting up a budget!

I won’t be paid for it but it’s fine as I’m less stressed LOL

It’s not about results but rather sharing my experience, tips and tricks to help people achieve something they’ll like.

I don’t know yet when the classes will take place but sometime when it’s warmer as we’ll sit in an outside patio.

And last but not least, I am currently having a “photo crisis” on bookstagram as I tried to take pictures yesterday with new props that I was very excited about but … that didn’t turn how I thought it would and now I am questioning everything again!

I even asked people to vote for what they want to see in my stories if you want to help me LOL

As usual, I am leaving you with two reels!

The first was for Women’s Rights International day: I chose some badass heroines! Do you recognize some of your favorites?

And the second is how I went from reading about favorite heroes to wanting them printed on a T-Shirt LOL

To my utter astonishment I already sold some T-Shirts! Not a lot mind you but I didn’t even expect to sell one as I am not a professional!

But hey, if your ordered, I am SO GRATEFUL to you! They are still available one week and then it will be a gratifying experience!

On the blog this week (click on the graphic to read the post)

Well I posted a review in French for a book that I think the French edition is much prettier than the US or UK one! Sorry but I would never have read the book based on the US cover 😉 and I would have missed a great story!

The second book was AMAZING! I learned a lot about the American Revolutionary War, the heroine was extraordinary and the writing delightful!

That’s it! Thanks for reading! Now I am going to catch up with comments and posts!

  1. Snow in March? Hey maybe there’s still hope for us to get some too! It did snow a few flecks this weekend but of course no accumulation, my kids are so disappointed there were no snow days this year!

  2. Two hours overtime everyday?! No wonder you’re so tired, Sophie! Hope you’re able to work less and get some rest! We’ve had snow for a few weeks and I’m over it now. Hopefully it’ll be melted by the time I get home. Your painted covers are so pretty! It’s lovely that you’re sharing your skills with other booklovers/artists! Take care, Sophie! 🙂

  3. I’m afraid we might face that kind of weather, Sophie. It’s been like spring since December here. I really don’t want to see snow in March, but temps are dropping later this week.

  4. I am not a fan of working extra hours but sometime it just has to be done. I think that it is amazing that you are teaching a class on how to paint books! Have a great week!

  5. I’m sorry about how busy you are at work, but at least you have some great creative outlets. We actually got snow flurries this morning even though it was 5C and it won’t last.

  6. It’s never great when you are shorthanded at work. I hope things get better sooner than later. But, yeah for your art classes. I think those will be a lot of fun. I am not great in the graphic arts, but I think being creative can be tough. Good luck with your photos!

  7. I think Girl Called Samson was one of the Amazon First Picks, wasn’t it? I remember considering it and then defaulted to my usual thriller option. 😉 Hope work straightens out soon – it’s tough to be so stressed all the time – PLUS it impacts reading time! What’s up with that??? Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific week.

  8. Sorry work has been so stressful. Hopefully it will get better soon. I’m jealous of the snow. It is currently snowing here, but its not much and is melting as soon as it hits the ground.

  9. Sorry to hear work has been so stressful with people out, Sophie. I’m surprised you won’t be paid for the class, but maybe the fun stress-relief is worth it. 🙂

  10. I love both videos! I want one of the shirts, but am trying to budget still for my Scotland trip, and so I’ve got to cut myself back on both books and bookish tshirts. If I could quilt, I’d have a couple quilts I could make with all my bookish tshirts. lol But I do love that shirt! And I love the pages you decorate. I wish I lived nearby to come to one of your classes for that. Hope you have a good week! And I know about the busy, I was having lots of time it seemed in February to get around and comment on blogs and now in March I seem to be getting behind again.

  11. I am not sure if snow in March is normal for you, but we are still in the depths of winter although we got a bit of rain which was nice. Inversion here is a nightmare. Loved your review of the Amy Harmon, I am going to buy it in kindle and print just for your review alone! haha Hope you end up picking up some great ones this week.

  12. I’m afraid we’ll still have snow on the ground in April. That just doesn’t seem right, lol. I’m sorry you’re having to work so much overtime, I hope things ease up soon
