“Story of my Life” by Lucy Score feels like a Hallmark movie

Synopsis

Hazel is given a one-two punch when she’s forced to move out of her Upper East Side apartment and is given a final warning from her publisher.

If she doesn’t turn in a book by her next deadline, they’re cutting her loose.

Hazel rashly decides to leave what’s left of her city life behind and impulse buys a house in rural Pennsylvania sight unseen. How better to entertain the loyal readers she still has and rediscover her writing mojo than immersing herself in small-town life?

Too bad this town looks to be on its last legs. At least she’s finding swoon-worthy inspiration from her hot, grumpy contractor Cam and his animal-rescuing, community-involved family. It’s all just research. What could go wrong?

This book was extremely enjoyable and I experienced it like champagne bubbles! The characters are well written, the Bishop family is my dream family and very entertaining , the animals (raccoon, piglet, dogs and bald eagle) were the cute factor and I just wanted to grab some popcorn, park my behind on a chair at Story Lake and enjoy the show!

I even began the Hazel method: jotting down notes as I was reading and that would give you this:

-Heroine come back and second chance (Atta girl, you’ve got this!);

-Pulling up from the ashes, leaving New York and embracing small town life (note to self: don’t buy a house online sight unseen or have a big fat wallet at the ready. Except if the contractor is a sexy hunk);

-Goose is a bald eagle who loves to sky bomb people with fish heads (maybe wear a helmet when you visit a small town that could come in handy)

– A pig running green in town (green?? What does it mean? Autocorrect hates me! He was running free not green!);

-A goofy Berner dog and a small beagle (will they get along with Bertha the raccoon? Or will we have a showdown?)

-Three hot brothers. Silly nicknames between them and their sister. Family banter and family messaging groups (reminded me of From Lukov with Love)(there is potential for more books in the series, every brother being utterly lickable. Is it suddenly hot in here? Who shut down the AC? )

-A battle of small towns (that has potential! Nothing like a common enemy to unite a community! Queue revenge coups and sabotaged fairs).

-Lots of hot sex (add steaming emoji).

Well I think that these little notes accurately describes the tone of that book! With lots of good feelings, laughter and sexiness. I bet everyone would love to move to Story Lake now!
