Hi friends,
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Today’s theme is : ten authors I want to read.
But I didn’t feel the theme because if I want to read an author, I just do it so I don’t have a long waiting list!
I decided to go rogue and to give you a list of ten debut books that impressed me a lot!
You’d believe their authors were already old veterans because you won’t find any (many) mistakes!
I know that they probably were writing one way or another for years but these were their first published novel.
You’ll see if you have read these stories that what they have in common is a unique voice, a unique style and universe!
Most are already big hits while two recent ones have only begun making waves.

Thanks for reading!
Sophie

I really look forward to reading Red Rising! It’s high on my own list of all these books, Sophie! 🙂
I think you will fall in love with it Lashaan! Go for the audiobook!
I really enjoyed The Black Witch when I read it
This is such an underrated series!
I loved A List Of Cages. Someday I’ll get to The Poppy War. I want to know what the hype is about.
And I predict that that book will rock your world AJ!
Stalking Jack The Ripper and The Kiss Quotient were indeed soo good! And City of Brass and The Poppy War are on my TBR so I hope to get to them soon.
I hope you’ll love them Lindsey!
I’ve read several of these. Iron Widow was one of my top books from last year. Great choices, Sophie!
Thank you Teri!
I wanna read Only a Monster so badly! I have a copy of it already so it’s only a matter of time now.
I hope you’ll love it Stephanie!
I love this idea for a list And I find it hard to believe Red Rising is a debut!
Me too Tammy!!
You, Sophie, going rogue?! Unheard of!!!!!! X
Bwahahaha yes Caro!
I also loved Caravel, A List of Cages, and TLH. I agree, fantastic debuts. I have read follow ups by all but Roe, who I just saw has a new book coming out in October.
And I can’t wait for her next book Sam!
The Kiss Quotient was so good and so polished, it was hard to believe it was a debut!
I totally agree Tanya!
