Mini Review
4,5 stars
I loved Under Your Spell! It has everything I look for in romance:
-great and loveable characters;
-lots of romance and feelings;
-character growth;
-laughter and above all else, an amazing family;
And even the third act breakup wasn’t dragged out nor too dramatic so yay!
Under Your Spell is about Clementine or Clemmie, daughter of a famous singer yet absentee father and Theo Elliott, the huge rock star. Clemmie has been wronged by many men in her life and we find Clemmie in a very tight spot again. Her boyfriend dumped her and she is about to lose her job and her apartment.
What Clemmie does when she has a bad day is call her sisters.
Let’s pause here to contemplate the wonder of the Weird Sisters!
That siblings relationship was goal! It was nearly better than the romance to be honest. Having such devoted and crazy sisters gave us really funny moments.
The first thing her sisters did was to reenact the breakup spell from their teenage years. But they were very tipsy and instead of a cauldron they will use a pan, for the salt circle it will be pepper and sugar, instead of sage it will be cooking herbs etc. I was cackling!!!
The sisters bond is wild, tender, funny and very strong. I dream of having sisters like these.
After having a very hot one night stand (maybe the drunken spell is working after all) her sister will offer her a job opportunity: babysitting the famous rockstar Theo Elliott.
Most would jump at the opportunity but Clemmie has a lot of baggage linked to famous singers and musicians. Yet she has little choice and will soon follow Theo’s assistant, David, gazillions instructions on how to care for the singer.
Six weeks in a coastal cottage with a handsome man and you can imagine the rest.
It was sweet, tender, funny and sad sometimes. The main male character was very sexy and a true good guy. Theo was swoony and just perfect!
If you love sweet romance with amazing family and lots of humor, this is your book!
Thanks for reading!
