Hi friends,
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Today’s theme is: Ways in Which My Blogging/Review Style Has Changed Over Time but I didn’t think I would have ten things that changed so instead I chose to go back to my favorite genre: fantasy!
If you haven’t read fantasy series before or if you love the genre and want to discover more, you will find ten of my favorite fantasy series and…they are not written by Sarah J Maas (or Cassandra Clare)! Why? Because I adore both authors but they are always featured (and rightly so) on many lists and I wanted to give the spotlight to other also excellent series!
And… I think you will find more than ten really! Oh well…

I really like Fourth Wing! You can never have too much Xaden and Violet. I tried reading Discovery of Witches before starting the show but unfortunately the first book was too slow for me to keep going with the series.

I read very few fantasy fiction titles, but I recognize lots of these authors… and I have Jackaby on my bookshelf. I just haven’t every read it. :)

My soon to be DIL recently finished The Poppy War series and raved about it. The Raven Boys will forever be on my list of favorites, and I’d love to do a re-read of A Discovery of Witches. Great list, Sophie!
Maybe that’s a sign that you must read The Poppy War as well Teri!
I have actually read two of these – The Raven Boys and Jackaby. I think there are a lot of great fantasy series out there. It’s been a while since I picked up a new one, but I loved The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa and Rae Carson always wrote great stuff too.
Rae Carson writes amazing stuff Sam! But it’s been ages since I read one of her books!
What a fun list. I cannot believe I haven’t read Empire of the Vampire yet! And I need to continue the Fourth Wing series

I read very little fantasy, but I’m not opposed to reading the genre. It just has to be the right book for me, you know? Thanks for this list. I might even check some of these out :)
