Hi friends,
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Today’s theme is a Valentine freebie and I decided to go with my top romances
You will have something for every taste and from different tropes!
For lovers of urban fantasy and fans of witches and vampires: A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness
“Are you smelling me?” After yesterday I suspected that my body was giving him all kinds of information I didn’t want him to have.
“Don’t tempt me,” he murmured.”
― A Discovery of Witches
If you love historical romances with a hint of forbidden: From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon
“Love had not made them poor. Love had made them wealthy. In that moment, they were royalty, a king of fortune and a queen of destiny, embracing a tiny prince of peace.”
― From Sand and Ash
If you love contemporary romance with lots of ordeals, self sacrifice, friendship and tragedy : Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott
“I wouldn’t touch you so quickly, I thought. I’d wait. Draw it out. Build up the moment so that when it happens—when each of us feels the other’s skin for the first time—it’ll be something sublime. Something earned.”
― Bring Down the Stars
LGBTQ romance with great banter and royal love: Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
“That’s the choice. I love him, with all that, because of all that. On purpose. I love him on purpose.”
― Red, White & Royal Blue
If you want a heartwarming story with a character suffering from autism: The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
“I don’t want just a night or a week or a month with you. I want you all the time. I like you better than calculus, and math is the only thing that unites the universe.”
― The Kiss Quotient
If you are looking for a dark romance with a tortured hero and lots of feels: Covet by Ella James
“I’ve decided I don’t want to stay away. If it hurts—if feeling this way for you simply hurts—I’ll bear it. I want to be near you. I want you to hurt near me. I feel certain that together we’d be…better.”
― Covet
For fans of enemies to lovers with great banter and amazing family: From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata
“I love you so much I spend all day with you, and it still isn’t enough for me,” he kept going. I stopped breathing. “I love you so much, if I can’t skate with you, I don’t want to skate with anyone else.” Holy. Fuck. “I love you so fucking much, Jasmine, that if I broke my ankle during a program, I would get up and finish it for you, to get you what you’ve always wanted.”
― From Lukov with Love
If you are looking for unconventional romcom with a pornstar and an heiress: The Roommate by Rosie Danan
“Every body is different, but none of them are wrong.”
― The Roommate
If you love very unique stories with a charming and cute Neanderthal; Transcendence by Shay Savage
“I wonder what I will do if she doesn’t wake up, and I don’t have an answer. As I lie back down next to her and pull her into my arms, my stomach growls, and suddenly I know exactly what I will do. If she doesn’t wake up, then I will just lie with her until I don’t wake up either.”
― Transcendence
If you love fantasy stories with very strong minded heroines and infuriating but dashing hero: From Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout
“With my sword and with my life, I vow to keep you safe, Penellaphe,” he spoke, voice deep and smooth, reminding me of rich, decadent chocolate. “From this moment until the last moment, I am yours.”
― From Blood and Ash
Thanks for reading!
I love how this list contains something for everyone AND that you included quotes! So many good one here, I LOVED Red White and Royal Blue, The Kiss Quotient, From Lukov With Love and From Blood and Ash and I really want to start A Discovery of Witches soon!

What a great list,I don’t read too many romances these days but I could happily read some of these.
I so agree with From Sand and Ash. That was a stunning historical romance.
It was fantastic Tanya!
I love your list! I’ve read most of these already but still need to read the Emma Scott and the Jennifer Armentrout.
Very intriguing list! I’d put my money on A Discovery of Witches if I had to pick which one should get a chance to sweep me off my feet here! 😛
I hope you’ll read it one day Lashaan!
I had a discovery of witches on my tbr but then i went and watched the series from HBO ♀️ now i don’t know if I can read it anymore
Damn Hanna! I plan on watching it now LOL
I really like the show though! Even my fiance likes watching it and he usually doesn’t care about this type of shows
I love some couples here and loved to see Beth and Ehd! They’re so underrated and still one of my favorite historical romances. Not that I really ever read historical romance.
I so agree with you Jamsu!
